Seasoned Smash Bros. leaker Vergeben just dropped this bomb yesterday:

Quote
The Castlevania games that I know of two separate things. One is a collection of past titles with Symphony of the Night as 'the selling point' lead game. The other is a brand new Castlevania game. I don't know when or where they're going to be announced at.

Link to the full post.

Vergeben has a history or being an incredibly reliable source - his initial leak of Smash Ultimate was proven entirely correct. He called out Ridley, Simon, and the fact that the game would include all past characters; and he did all of this before the first "EVERYONE IS HERE!" teaser. He's made himself very well trusted in the Smash community.

I'm not sure what to make of this leak. It's definitely a possibility, especially with all the attention the series has been getting lately. What do you guys think? I really want it to be true.

Damn, that would be awesome. Given the inclusion of Simon and Richter in SSBU, and the popularity of the Netflix show, I can see this being a reality.

As with all rumors about Konami doing literally anything gamer-friendly: I'll believe it not when I see it, but when I actually have my hands on it.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Like Mr. Perry always said,

(click to show/hide)

What would modern day Konami do with the franchise? 2D? 3D? Classicvania? Metroidvania? Microtransactionvania? I honestly don't have a guess that I am confident in.

This isn't a prediction more a logical conclusion.
Smash Bros is gold-mine for renewed interests; Just look at Earthbound and ESPECIALLY Fire Emblem.
Konami might not be the sharpest tools in the shed, but even Stevie Wonder can see this opportunity to strike the iron while it's hot.

He hinted at this before the Smash reveal, too.

And, in unrelated news, Super Bomberman R was updated again, now featuring more Castlevania characters and even a Castlevania-themed stage.

Something's clearly coming. Outside of obviously Bomberman, why is this one IP being so much treatment this year? It's being emphasized in other games, too!

I would love to have the Castlevania games, but I won't be running excited until I see the games on the stores.

Apparently, Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood just got rated for PS4 in Korea.

Under the name "Castlevania Requiem".

Totally betting that's the name of their collection.

I can see Smash basically becoming the Shenron of old franchises i.e. a means to revive them (by first rekindling public interest)

Castlevania needs a collection with SOTN leading the pack.

Finally!  My sacrifices are finally paying off!  :P

I was wondering about this rumor once Simon got officially announced.  Gonna patiently wait until there are official announcements and I am holding the games in my hands sobbing hysterically.

The Castlevania Requiem stuff was already trademarked, so we're probably days or hours away from an announcement.

While this is all great news, I'll be pretty bummed if the "collection" is just Rondo and Symphony...

I mean that's basically just The Dracula X Chronicles without the remake.

But in terms of new games, as long as it's in something resembling the old timeline I'll be more than happy.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13104670/1/Castlevania-Birth-of-the-Dragon

Dracula was not always a monster. He was once a man named Mathias Cronqvist. A flawed, conflicted, genius of a man. How did the educated, aristocratic, crusader who piously served the church become a vampire, and eventually the Dark Lord himself, the opposing force to God? From a very young age terrors and tragedy shaped the man into the king of all evil. This is his story.

Yeah, that seems a little... I dunno. You'd think they'd put the NES trilogy in with it, right? Maybe the GameBoy trilogy?

Symphony and Rondo collection should be ported to Switch! A perfect place for it
