Like the title says, these are Mini, Pocket, Castlevania Replicas that I've made recently.

Anyway, I didn't know where else to display these...
It's nice to finally be a part of a decent Castlevania Fan site.
Oh yeah, Hi...

Enjoy the pics. :)

Hmhm, thanks. :)

Yes, I used the mini DVD-r cases and the CDs are those white, mini-data CDs.
I used those cause the mini DVD-rs have these raised ring around the center hole, which i didn't like...

I'm definately going to do more.
Just not sure which ones.

Maybe you guys have some suggestions...

Also, i'm trying to think of a way I can make some REALLY small replicas, but I can't think of anything that could accommodate this feat.
I may have to create some kind of packaging from scratch, but I think it'd be worth it.
I'm a sucker for miniature stuff like this, especially when modeled after games that are  rare/valuable.

Welcome to the forum!

Wow! Those are cute.

I don't know much about recordable hardware, so I can't help you.

Thanks! It's great to be here.

Last night, baby Symphony was born, so here she is, with her brothers... 3-)

I chose the Japanese version of the Sega Saturn because I thought it was the better looking package design among the several releases.
Plus, i'm a sucker for spine cards...haha.

Well, that's a trilogy, i'm taking a break. Teeha!

These are so cool!

How do you make them?

Well, first and foremost, for me, they are just cool looking novelties, as I am a ginormous Castlevania fan/collector and love being surrounded by anything Castlevania related that's rare/valuable/expensive. (Or in this case, mini-replicas of such items.)
(Think model cars or home decor, but WAY cooler.)

Besides that, they are on blank Mini-DVD-rs (2.8gb) and Mini-CD-rs (210mb), so if I (or any owner of them) liked, data could be put on them.
Data such as perhaps the actual game rom (if it can fit) or other Castlevania related data  such as music soundtracks, photos, text file histories, videos, etc, etc.
Whatever can fit on them.

I'm happy with them just being displayed among my collection in my living room.
It's a really fun and inexpensive hobby. :)

These are so cool!

How do you make them?

Here's a basic, step by step process that I used.

- Obtain the actual game packaging scans (from online or the physical copy)

- Used a photo editor (I used MS photo editor) to touch them up or improve the coloring/sharpness.

- Size them down to fit the mini dvd-r/cd-r cases.
The way I did it was to estimate how small, print it out black and white, cut it out (nice, sharp scissors) and try the fit to see if it's right on or needs to be adjusted.
I kept doing this until it was a near perfect fit.

- When they were ready, I printed them on glossy photo paper in color.

- Cut them by hand, folded them in the appropriate places and inserted them into the empty disc case.

- For the mini discs, I did the same thing as the rest of the package except the paper I used is semi-glossy, sticker paper.

- I then had to use an exacto knife to cut the inner cd hole, scissors on the outer edge and then eyeballed the placement of the sticker on the disc.
(With the help of a CD labeling system)

This is pretty labor intensive, as I found out myself firsthand, but completely worth it.
The first time I made one (Mini-Rondo), it took me like half a day cause the scans I found  either sucked, or had lots of ugly, imperfections that I had to edit (I used MS paint pad) by hand. (I have since found much better ones.)
Then the sizing thing takes a while.

After that I was hooked.
