original Canon Dracula was just as much of a chew toy. Anyone who wandered into the castle could beat him.
At least LoS gives justification through him being almost totally depowered (presumably)from his centuries long slumber.
LOL, though if we compare both canons, maybe OG canon characters WERE more powerful by default? I mean, where as people in the LoS canon take time to actually kill minor enemies, hell, even destroy crates and barrels, Original Canon Simon, Trevor, hell, even Alucard, rip through them like a hot knife through butter. MoF Trevor has trouble with skeletons and zombies, while OG Trevor's shakes them off as "monsters any toddler vampire hunter could slay". Even if Dracula does nothing but sit in that big old throne room of his, the fact that he even lasts against these heroes who can take enemies out in a few hits(while their LoS counterparts struggle in long battles with them) makes him, IMO, pretty badass. I mean, you'd never see OG Dracula die by gunfire or fall off a cliff to his doom. And it is ALWAYS the best of the best who wander into his castle to confront him. Earth's mightiest heroes, who are badass in their own accord! It's not like you play as "Villager #2" or if "Common Stable Boy" has a chance against Dracula. The Belmonts were always the top of their game, as were Alucard, and then other vampire hunters/magical humans second.
Also calling the original a "chew toy" doesn't help in Gabula's defense. That's like saying, "You pee'd your pants" and you retorting, "Well, you shat yours!". In the end, you just got two people who relieved themselves in their pants. I was hoping(I know it's too much) that MS would've taken the higher route and not resort to that. Again, maybe it's that whole, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!" thing.
