i saw the full e3 demo playthrough and my favorite part was
(click to show/hide)

i legitimately liked that a lot. i hope similar stuff happens more.

on the other hand, i have a hard time believing that's trevor besides him sharing similar clothing. it's kinda disappointing that character design in lords is so dominated by these outfit motifs. i don't really understand why gabriel has a heavily modified brotherhood-styled outfit when he absolutely loathes them. it also does make me wonder how linear the story is going to be combined with the open world aspect.

hopefully that means i can stalk zobek in three different timelines.

The game is non-linear, not open world.

But all the games you mentioned are 2D games. Platforming in 3D is STILL a difficult thing even without enemies advancing at you because of camera issues. They did it largely the same way in the 64 games, the Devil May Cry games, and God Of War. Comparing platforming in 2d vs 3d is an apples to oranges type of thing. And with games like Contra and Metroid, you have ranged weapons that give you the possibility of being able to fend off these attacks before the enemies get too close. Castlevania 4 allowed you to use subweapons while hooked on to rings, but LoS doesn't allow that, which leaves you completely defenseless while clinging to a ledge (which, imo is as it should be.)

Super Mario 64 would like a word. Anyway, like Maedhros said, there's no reason for them to completely segregate platforming and combat.

That is a damn good question, sir. I bet in LoS she'd be positively pornographic. ;)

You have Succubus in DmC, technically speaking, though if you expect her to be sexy you are in for a disappointment.
