Sounds like a porn game...
Hahahaha!

I'd buy that :P
Me too  :P

It's nothing personal, it's just that sometimes you complain about the most trivial things, you have the "OldKastlevania4lifezLoSZucksorrs" that most of this forum loves (avalanche of -1's? change that for +1's, I'm and old active member and my rep is the lowest of the bunch because, god forbid, I dislike some aspects of the old series and like some of the new, loving both.. well, except for mof).

See, the fall damage is a design choice, rules dont matter, and old Castlevania didn't have any /rules/, old Belmonts DROWNED after touching waters, there's no universal Castlevania "rule" see? sometimes it appears that you can't lose a chance for bashnig LoS even if you have to invent the most abstract stuff to prove your point, as a fan I have the right to feel offended, and note, I'd do the same if the same reasoning was used for critizising that way Ecclesia or Aria or Symphony or whatever (except PoR, tht game is inexcusable, and DoS is meh).

MoF focused in platfforming (bad o good you decide) and so they needed a penality for falling high heights, becasue, you know, that's failing in platfforming; the old games had insta deaths, MoF is not as punishing but it still had a penality, see? It's a design choice, the metroidvanias were not platfformers they focused in navigation and loot that's why they didn't have those restrictions, it's not about "rules" of a universe (being castlevania one of the most inconsistent ones ever created). But I don't hope I could change your mind as I see you are rooted in your beliefs, and that's fine, I salute you and applaud you, but mind you, you'll always have someone like me standing on the other side.
It's OK. It's just that there's lots of things in LoS that don't make sense the way I see it (especially the music, you can be sure about that).
And in this particular case, let me see how I can put in in simple words...

The way I see it, there are 2 ways to go in CV: you make the character fall into an abyss and it's death and returning to starting point (or check point, but not like in MoF because they were every 5 steps... see, I don't seek for it, the games themselves give me the chance to make critics), like in all ClassicVania, or you make the character fall into the first floor they land on, and nothing happens, like in all MetroidVania.

By the way, PoR is my favourite CV, but it's OK, I know I'm on the minority there.
And I'm glad it's nothing personal. I'm all into debating. With words.

Anyway, let's not make this a big deal. I don't have any problem, you are OK in my book  :)

I dunno, I like PoR too. It gets a bum deal on here but it has a decent reputation on other forums

It has ratings of more than 8 points everywhere, but for some reason majority of CV fans seems to hate it. Kind of the other extreme of LoS, and being PoR my favourite one, it's completely understandable how I dislike LoS.
It's a matter of personal preferences. The same things I love about PoR are the things most CV fans hate about that particular game.

Oh man my most anticipated perfomance. Isaacs is a A-tier actor (So are Carlyle and Stewart)

yeah, credit where credit is due, the voices they got for the LoS series were awesome. Isaac particularly chews up the scenery like noone's business. And of course Sir Patric Stewart, who goes into Shakespearean monologues about charades and masks.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

No man on earth has pronounced "Charade" the way Patrick Stewart did, is up there with Michael Caine's "Tangerine".

Very informative video, game design is an amazing science. They are so proud of the camera lol

And BTW, I think the Void Sword is an homage to Soul Reaver.

My money's on a whole new Belmont much like Gabriel was. Let's hope that "Iga vetoed the use of Julius" rumor is true.
