I always liked the theory I think it was in Mirror of Fate Wiki that Dracula called him Alucard because he found about him through the mirror and so reversed his name  . But you know its going to be hard with Dracula making up with Alucard what with him killing all the woman in Trevorcard life .

So why he doesnt used that "ways and means" to discover Trevor's name before giving a new one to him or discover that Trevor had a son? lol

I think there way to solve that and I don't think its a contraction. The killing of the brotherhood and none survive in Dracula attack in Mirror of Fate might mean that all brotherhood were killed and it was rebuilt maybe by a another group of people who wanted to continue its legacy. That must mean that at the time there would be no one to say who Trevor was. Also maybe Trevor mission was only known to the masters of the order. Its possible he finds out later by his interactions with Belmonts who would know of Trevor from Simon Belmont or he could learn from Zobek .
