We now know Marie is in LOS2, and I'm still thinking that it's because the God Mask really did have the power to bring back the dead. So, perhaps MARIE will be the one that ultimately destroys Dracula? In the end of the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula movie, Dracula's love, Mina, dealt the final blow and killed him.

I'd say that is very likely. It would be a fitting end.

I think I'd rather have Marie come down from heaven as a sort of angel to release Gabriel from his immortality as a reward for saving the world from Satan (assuming he actually saves it and doesn't enslave/destroy humanity afterward).

Sonia = Marie would be cool, but if you see in the trailer the places where Carmilla and Marie are set, they're apparently in the same place, so I'm guessing that the actual Marie is an illusion. Also Cox said somewhere that the game will be set in the past, present and illusions. Nevertheless, I also think that Marie will be reincarnated and she may end Gabriel's existence.
