um Parodius was always sexualized, especially Sexy Parodius, the greatest game in the series (especially with sametime co-op, branching stages, etc.)

also Bomberman series was too sexist having little to no female protagonists involved.  even the title Bomberman itself is downright fanatical worship of the male sex.

would say Bombergirl is a healthy counterbalance and retribution for all those generations of giving females no lead role in the series.

well sure, they are going into the objectification extremes, but people dont need to play it from that perspective.  they are simply pretty girls that have fun blowing up their enemies.   if people see it as hentai or some kinda porn material, then that's on them, not the game's fault.

Bomberman sexist, heh first time I've ever heard that. I think you're looking into this a little too deeply, trying to find something that isn't there.


Actually, no, it isn't sexist, never has been. Not one ounce of half torn clothing on the female antagonist in the series (who I find can hold her own), nothing that just needs one tentacle to look like hentai. This new game looks like something made just for young Japanese males to fap to, so they'll spend the money to get this. The sensible Bomberman fan will be appalled (and going from comments I have seen, many are appalled by this), and will not buy into this crap Konami is trying to dish out.


As for Parodius, it's sexualized since the near beginning, the most mainly in the final shmup title,the MSX original has no sexualization in at all (but other than a butt in Sexy at the end, and a cutscene or two in Sexy, none of these women are showing any signs of being over/under sexual). Bomberman has never been sexualized in the least bit, so apples to oranges.

As for my opinion on Konami, you're dead, just please go away at this point. First you kill Hudson, then you haul it's dead rotting husk around by bringing Bomberman back, only to theoretically continue dragging Hudson's dead corpse around some more. If this is what Bomberman is coming to, the series should die off as well. Some of us don't like the direction Konami is taking it here.

I can honestly say, I own every Parodius game, but have never popped a boner to any of them. Why? Because I'm older, and I don't fantasize about video game characters. I do like using the female characters though, because they tend to have some of the best weapons in the game. Same reason I the female characters in SNK games, ease of use, and how strong they really are. My gal of choice to use, Athena, is considered to be OP in pretty much every KoF game made.
