The shinespark puzzles are dirty whores. The game gives you no indication that you can pull those maneuvers. Who'da thunk slamming into a slope would extend your built up speed?

I beat Metroid Dread a few weeks ago, went back to Judgment and still feeling kinda "eh" about it. Pretty sure like the Hokuto no Ken game it was done by RGG Studio's B team, because the quality of gameplay and storytelling just isn't as good as the mainline Yakuza games, including the excellent Like a Dragon.

It was actually the 16th anniversary of the original Yakuza on PS2 a couple days ago so I figured it was a good time to fire that up, since I've only played the Kiwami remake. Even with its clunky combat, it's got looaads of charm and is really an impressive looking game for the console. Wish I'd played it when it first came out. The dubbing's a little off with the constant swearing, but the voice performances are mostly pretty good.

And I'm wrapping up No More Heroes III, tackling side missions before I hit up the final boss. It's a shame this didn't also come out on PS4, because the Switch just chokes on Unreal Engine 4. Same problem with Deadly Premonition 2, which I aim to get back to. They need to be on more powerful hardware.

Finished Metroid Dread, now playing through on hard. Also resumed FFXV after a 3 year hiatus(of being in the final area of the game)  and downloaded the Royal Edition add-on with all  the additional chapters for the squad and Ardyn. (No spoilers  for either please)

Merry Xmas y’all

Recently put a little time into Sailor Moon R SFC, using Chibi Usa, and managed to 3 life clear it. She's basically that games easy mode though as a majority of enemy attacks completely miss her.

Played that game too a while back. Yeah, Chibi Usa really makes the game easy. Especially considering some of the enemies and bosses you have to deal with.

Hadn’t played it it in 3 years, because life happens.

Finally took the plunge on Nioh 2 when I was stuck at home sick a few weeks ago. Well, Nioh 2 is more like Nioh 1.5, but I'm not mad. Still a pretty awesome game.

I just don't know how much time this one will drain out of me. I played well over 500 hours of the first one, and now I have even less time than I did back then. It sounds like this one is easier overall, so maybe that'll be less time spent? Hopefully.

The sense of progressing your character build in the first one was unbeatable, and I think that's where most of the series' appeal lies for me. It reminds me a lot of the Souls games, in that NG+ is harder each time (up to NG+4), but there's just more to it than that. Finding progressively rarer gear with more and better perks is pretty addictive, especially when you can level it up and reforge new perks on it. Just a whole lot of options you can choose from to become stronger, and it's really fun once you fully grasp everything.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I've been playing Lodoss War Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. So far it's been fun. The story is kinda eh but I'm not super far into.

EDIT: So, I guess there is a lot more to the series than just this game. I actually didn't know. My bad.

If you're into anime, the Record of Lodoss War OVA and Chronicles of the Heroic Knight TV series are some of the best the '90s had to offer.

I'm looking into it right now, and I really think I will check it out.

Needy Girl Overdose. A perfect slice of how good and/or bad the post-2010s Internet can affect some groups of specific people with mental disorders. Some of the endings are kinda like riding on the rocket and reaching the moon, or meeting the God in person.
But after seeing the plot of the "real" ending I can't help but to think of something pretty disastrous. The main character probably can't be helped until either she completely lost herself and suiside or she eventually died after aging, no matter how she arranged live streams and activities in the worst month of her life..

Once again booting up Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (PC) and try to find a solution to beat Gunvolt EX without reloads. This bitch is awful if I banned my reload on purpose...

Been playing Shadow Man Remastered. For 1999, this game feels massive and it's easy to get lost in the maze-like design. I rented it on N64 back in the day, but didn't get far because the low framerate, low resolution, and controls kinda spoiled the experience. The remaster looks and feels sooo good.

Despite it restoring some previously cut content, it kinda sucks the game launched with still some missing content like an entire boss that's supposed to be implemented in a future update. So like...do I not finish the game so I can go back and fight the boss? Perplexing.
