female protagonist option (hey Fallout 4 and Mass Effect series shows even talkactive protagonists can still be very customizable right down to their sex and race.and even story and relationship deep SRPGs like Fire Emblem Fates feature protagonist identity customization )
and they make it possible to make any NPC playable and addable to the party (like Luna, Cor and anyone else that has a ingame model. Uncharted 2 did allow a lot of npcs to be playable for the whole campaign, and voice can be toggled.)
http://gematsu.com/2016/12/final-fantasy-xv-update-roadmap-detailed-additional-playable-characters-event-scenes-avatar-system-considerationhttp://www.dualshockers.com/2017/02/08/final-fantasy-xv-interview-future-dlc-first-look-character-creation-more/http://www.idigitaltimes.com/final-fantasy-xv-dlc-playable-luna-being-considered-says-producer-566077the character creation is still in early stages, so FFXV can add good female customization and settings,
plus they are editing the story, so adding a female version of the story, is more possible than making the later half totally open world. it's just a matter of editing cutscenes and revoicing line and stuff.
but overall, people could still change how FFXV is played and experienced with lots of different playable characters and fully customizable protagonist.
and those that like FFXV as is, don't need to use those options/features, though those things would convince lot more to buy and play FFXV their own style.
heck, even if FFXV plot goes untouched, the character creation system could be used in single player as a free mode of the single player campaign, and also could get its own DLC sequel chapter to the story that utilizes the current world contents. maybe could even be a prequel.
though if they also add playable Luna DLC, it could be a prequel, and she could have her own car and party members.
lots of possibilities!!
it is very interesting how FFXV has potential to evolve into a greater game more would be interested in.
perhaps they are also beginning to learn from Skyrim, which lets players be whatever the player themselves want.
FFXI and FFXIV are massively successful, and it shouldn't take a mmorpg to include lots of protagonist creation options, with free choice in sex, appearance, race and more.
FFXV already has all the assets to make even every npc playable.
and they probably could adapt Stella to playability status as well. playing as Stella would sure would be actually awesome instead of some noodle cup hat.
though yea they really should restrict what players can play as. and it should be featured in the single player in its entirety, besides its multiplayer.
they have to get a clue that a massive amount of players aren't going to buy/play FFXV until it has very attractive female protagonist to play as for the entire game without restrictions, and the greater the selection and quality aethestics options, the greater the incentives to start playing it.
almost no one would care to subscribe to FFXIV if it's protagonist selection was like FFXV's. and Skyrim is played to this day, with gamers appreciating the wealth of freedom and players can be whatever sex, appearance, and race they wanna be.
So overall, FFXV should stop being misogynist and racist and start letting players decide what the lead protagonist is, and the type of characters they want to party with.
it should all be fully customizable.
I mean heck, FFXIV allows you to even create your Retainers whatever you want.
(or RP wise, determine what kind of people you want for Retainers).
identity freedom and companions preference is very important.
The FFXV party members are not entirely bad, but they shouldn't be the only options!!
Noctis should have option to be female and a princess, and the lore should allow a female descendant to be the successor as queen.
there's already lots of examples how story and character deep RPGs (and SRPGs), feature totally customizable protagonist, and character dialogue adapting to it.
especially with FFXV production values, there's no excuse limiting it to just glorifying one demographic, they wind up limiting their sales and fanbase in the process.
even Pokemon and Fire Emblem have evolved tradition to feature playable female protagonist option, and they received much more popularity and success.
like its common sense. character creation is not only a multiplayer thing,
basically Dungeons and Dragons pencil and paper game itself, established that RPGs should always allow the player character to be whatever the player theirself wants. No one else determines what the player plays as, it's totally up to the player.
and these days, with tech and stuff, games are more capable of allowing more customization, with quality models than before. and still have solid storytelling and character interactions.
the devs just gotta be more open minded and be considerate towards all demographics, both sexes, and at least the 3 most common races/ethnicities (asian, caucasian, and black)
well yea as for changing protagonists race, hey, does FFXV even show anything about Regis's wife? she could be any race.
well anyways, there's the scoop, let's see if they really care about the fanbase as a whole instead of just the dudebro misogynists.
the character creation systems, and how they are added, and how they change/affect the single player, and stuff, will determine if FFXV will become something worth buying and playing.
as for the story, at this point, FFXV can still be saved with more customization and gameplay freedoms.
they have a chance to transform FFXV into the Skyrim of FF games, letting players play as whatever they want, utilize all the locations, and have fully customizable party selection, and freedom to have any character playable as well as addable to the party as well as playing as any character. there's a lot they can learn from FFXIV fundamentals (the current most profitable and played FF, aside from FFXI.) to make it greater
they can really fix the game. they can make it a game for everyone, and it all starts with allowing the lead protagonist to be changable to whatever the player wants, based on player preference of sex, race and appearance.
