PoR portraits: first or second set?

which version of the 4 genres used in PoR's portraits are your favorite?

London:

13th street by a mile, for the remixed Iron Blue Intention and the backgrounds.

Egypt:

The Forgotten City (for the music)

Inverted Circus:

Nation of Fools. the inverted circus levels are my least favorite of the genres, period, but NoF had a better background and music.

Haunted School in the forest:

Forest of Doom the sunset setting and the idea of nature taking over makes it more atmospheric.

Town:
13th Street

Egypt:
Forgotten City

Circus Crap:
Burnt Paradise

Forest:
Dark Academy

So, yeah, basically the complete second set. Theyre darker and gothier.

I hated most of the second set.

I prefer the misty town bakery to the evening one. It lost so all of that feeling of mystery the first one tried to pull off and became a casual stroll through a generic city/bakery.
Egypt barely differed, so either one works.
Both circus areas I hated equally, so no choice here.
And for the last one, partially each. The second one's atmosphere was neater, but the poor remix of cross your heart ruined the mood for me. If they only would manage to make it portray the same feeling haunted castle's version did. I liked the first version's track better.

I can't recall the names of the paintings, so I'll just generalize.

London: I liked the second set better. I liked the evening atmosphere and the track selection.

Egypt: first set.  The second set just didn't do anything for me.

Circus: second set.  The circus was my least favorite of all the paintings, but fighting a giant Medusa was cool.

Forest: second set.  I liked the atmosphere.

I think I'm going to go with everything from the first set, though I did like the Werewolf and Frankenstein bosses.

Yeah the circus areas were dumb and they didn't even have any secret areas.

Ditto.

Well, I could've done without the Circus levels...

I did like the Werewolf and Frankenstein bosses.

Yeah the werewolf was badass, and the 2 frankensteins in that 1 chamber in nest of evil took me awhile to pass, they really made frankenstein cool in that one.

Actually they did, but yeah they were so ridiculous. It's like Serio said in an older topic: They are a messed up circus being sucked into a black hole! lol

Yeah that about sums them up. ;D Hmm I only remember the one secret room that you'd have to be on something not to find cuz the last half of the the map is just a mirror of the first. :)
