My wife and I played Metamorphic Force over the weekend. A surprisingly decent beat-em-up! We also played UN Squadron, the arcade version is a pretty relaxed co-op shmup.

Played through Dead Cells, too. I got lucky and got a god-tier weapon on my run to the end. I might try to grind out some more cells before moving on to the next difficulty. Wasn't sure how much I would like the game at first, but it's pretty decent.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Played through River City Girls recently. I didn't really like it in the beginning since it just seemed really clunky, but it got a lot better as I got more moves. Not a bad game, although the dad humor gets a little old after a while. Okay, it's not really "dad humor," per se, but it's corny as hell. Well, except for Billy Lee. That gave me a chuckle. I'll move on to the sequel if I can catch it on sale.

I also played the first Hotline Miami, and it was okay. It was frustrating, and I felt like I wasn't doing things the way the game wanted me to, but it was fun.

But my console gaming has slowed down to a trickle. I've been sticking mostly to arcade games in the basement.I'm always looking for ways to mod those.

Finished New Game + (Hard Mode) of Triangle Strategy with a different ending, acquiring all the extra side characters. Thinking about doing a third and final to wrap it up forever.

About to finish my first playthrough of Sekiro. Man, what an amazing game! I thought the Nioh games had spoiled me rotten on what's possible with Soulslike combat, but Sekiro has not disappointed in that regard. I do wish the NG+ was as robust as Nioh, but I'm having lots of fun with it regardless. Great combat mechanics! I just wished I started this one sooner.

EDIT: Just came back to say how satisfying this game is. There are very few games where I had my lunch eaten by a boss on the first (or first dozen, lol) attempts, only to learn the patterns inside and out to the point where you really "get" the boss patterns, and the game, overall. As long as you dive headfirst into the deflection mechanics, this game will reward you. And this is only on my first playthrough! About to start NG+ as soon as I finish the second boss gauntlet available to me. Just so fun as long as you have the patience. I love games like this where you can feel your skills significantly improve as you adopt the mechanics. And I have yet to really dive into the prosthetics for the most part.

I've been working my way through Afterimage.  It's pretty stellar so far, and I'm maybe 10-12 hours in.  It has an awesome variety of weapons and the map is ridiculously huge.  It runs kinda terribly on the Switch though.  Usually that doesn't bother me much, but it has almost constant stutters and framerate issues.  It's still playable, but I hope they come out with a performance patch soon.

My wife and I have been playing Goldern Tee 97 lately. I can't explain it, but it's hilarious when you end up overshooting the ball unexpectedly. Especially when your little golfer guy has a tantrum.

I also gutted my Arcade1up Street Fighter II machine so I could play some 90s 3D arcade games, among other things. But I still keep coming back to Street Fighter II Turbo. The MAME version is extremely fast! It's so addictive. You have a super-small window to punish projectiles. But damn, it's a rush.

Now I'm considering getting a PC and lightgun setup for one of the basement TVs. And a sitdown racing cabinet. It's pretty awesome when you get a promotion that allows you to bring to life all the dumb gaming fantasies you had as a kid. My basement is slowly becoming an homage to arcades and neon lights  :-[

Well...crap. My images aren't showing up. Dammit.  :-\

Dragon Quest XI on the Switch for me. I've never finished the game during my previous play. I have heard that it is the prequel to Dragon Quest III so I really should try finishing it.

Started TotK but have had literally zero time since its release, beyond the first 4 shrines.

Saw Diablo IV but I didn't by it. The game must have PSPlus prescription in order for us, the customers, to play it despite the fact that it is on a disc. *sigh...* WTF Activision Blizzard.

Going through playthrough 2 of Sekiro. Damn this game is amazing! Still trying to finish the gauntlet of Severance; I can beat Inner Isshin on his own, but I just can't seal the deal on the actual gauntlet. Just got to Owl Father, going through the Purification ending. Man, it feels like I'm going to have to re-learn his attack patters (from the Shinobi Owl fight) all over again. I still can't get over how satisfying the combat is in this game. And, my wife and I found a new favorite content creator:

It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Baldur's Gate 3.

I don't have much time to play games due to my work schedule, which is why I ignored the long Early Access period for this game. Now that its finally complete, I finally tried it out this weekend and I'm loving it so far. Currently a lvl 3 Barbarian.

Murder by Numbers. I had a tough time of it at first because I've never played picross in my life. So I left the game for about a week, played lots of picross online, and came back. Now I can't get enough of it. The Phoenix Wright-style vibes are a bonus.

Also Hades. I don't do well with roguelikes because I generally find them even harder than Soulslikes. But the story and presentation keep me coming back for more. I definitely see why it was nominated for GOTY 2021.
