Title: Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance 2.0
Post by: KaZudra on August 03, 2011, 01:13:02 PM
Okay, all this will be is a Console-esque update to the original Game, basically Redone sprites and Backgrounds, soundtrack, and a 6 button Control as opposed to 4 button.
Anyone who would like to work on this appy here, leave suggestions, ect.

I'm working on My Cv2 project, but that's another story.

Finish one project before thinking about starting another, otherwise neither of them have a real chance of seeing completion.

I totally agree with this^^

It's a slippery slope when you start on another project without finishing the first one, then another one and so-on.

oh it won't be started anytime soon, I just wanna know who's on board ahead of time

No one with much talent will likely sign up ahead of time. Things change too much for that to happen. Your best bet is finishing your CV2 remake, and presenting that as "This is what I did, I know what I'm doing, now I want to do this. Who's in?"

It will attract more talented people if you display a quality product ahead of time.

Uzo is absolutely correct. While I support the idea of an updated HoD, I think it best to leave it alone until your CV2 remake is done.

Like Uzo said, no one is going to join before you start, because they could start their own, find another project they want to do, get a job that needs their full attention, etc.

On another note, as you haven't had a completed project yet, and already trying to start another is not a good sign either. No one is gonna want to join hands with someone that seems like they'll jump ship.

These aren't real statistics but it's to prove a point.

100,000 game projects are started every day.
60,000 of them gets people interested.
10,000 of those gets enough people but quits before a couple of months in.
1,000 of those gets to a point that it's almost considered a alpha.
70 of those gets close to a beta.
20 of those actually gets a game released.

and 18 of those 20 are made by game companies.

So yea, you can see my lack of optimism. I go onto LOTS of game development websites to look at what people are planning to do and stuff, because I'm interested and almost all of them die. There was one called GoonWorld that was extremely promising, everyone thought it'd take off with a full cast of people to work on it 3d art all ready and an engine that was deemed almost good enough, but I believe it's gone now.

O, Chrono Resurrection, if only Squeenix didn't send the developer team a C&D letter.

A remastered version of HoD sounds very nice..better soundtrack quality to the tunes..and new animations of the whip! I got so bored when the whip never changed its color to it's respective power...
the CV2 remake seems very interesting as well...too bad I can't help with anything=/

I rearranged most of CV2 and HoD's soundtrack.  People are welcome to use those tunes if need be.  As well, they're welcome to use my CV2 Simon sprite. :)
Anything to get some new homebrew juices flowing. :D

Yeah, Squeenix is such a dick. If they don't want the fans making it, they should have made one.

I hope Konami isn't like that, or we'll never be able to play some of the greatest Castlevania fan-made games.

true, true, but it seems that Konami is the only other Gaming Company who listens to thier fans, along with Nintendo and Recently on very good terms SEGA
