Saints Row IV somewhat ditches the GTA-like format for a Matrix-esque replica of the world where hacking that reality gains superpowers for the most crazy of crime-spree mayhem games, The Dubstep Gun is one of the coolest weapon's ever, Plays dubstep, creates destruction with a visualization like beam that pulses the song and beat, when fully upgraded the party never stops, with the DLC you get 8 tracks to choose from.

The Proton Pack from Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Taking a classic movie prop icon and upgrading it to all sorts of awesomeness! More then enough for 'geek culture' to literally have a 'culture shock'  ;D

a lightsaber will cut all these other weapons in half, and deflect/cut in half any thing else thrown at it prove me wrong

SRIV still has a good number of great guns, but shooting a black hole capable of sucking almost anything in and killing it all.

not if i sneak up behind you and cut you in half.. b4 you can even reload
lightsaber is high efficiency, extremely lightweight, don't have to reload ever. for bfg you either need to be The Rock or have at least 2 people to lift that gun, and i'm sure it overheats in a short time. lightsaber has neither of those issues to worry about

as 4 the black hole gun... one answer, death star :I

The Shrink Ray in Duke Nukem. Because it's friggin' hilarious. Also the GLOPP Ray in project manhattan, which de-mutates the mutants back into rats or pigs.

Holy Cross / Cross Boomerang - Castlevania various.
Buster Sword - FF7
Masamune - FF various.
Ultima Weapon - FF6 (can potentially rival the lightsaber.)
Mega Buster - Megaman Series.
Metal Blade - Megaman 2.
Z-Saber - Megaman X
Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device aka the Portal Gun - Portal Series.
Beam Saber - Gundam/Super Robot Series.
Master Sword - Legend of Zelda series.
Four Sword - Legend of Zelda series.
Hook Shot - Legend of Zelda series.
Soul Edge, Soul Blade, Soul Calibur - Soul Calibur series.
Hyper Beam - Metroid 3
Screw Attack - Metroid series. (I count this as a weapon because it's a piece of equipment that can be used apart from the power suit.)

If we want to include extremely broken weapons, take a gander at Gilgamesh's Ea, the Sword of Rapture from Fate/stay night (what? Visual Novels are technically games too). Forget destroying planets, this baby can fuck up reality.

The Concrete Donkey from the Worms series is pretty epic, as is the Holy Hand Grenade (of Antioch!).

Contra's Spread Gun was pretty ultimate in its time.

And Raiden II's Toothpaste Laser is one of the mostest favoritest shmup weapons.

I'd say the Laptop Gun from Perfect Dark was pretty great, and completely overpowered, back in the day.

Bionic Arm - Bionic Commando series - Of all the weapons I want in real life, this is the highest on the list. Maybe without putting a loved one in it though.

Grab Knuckle thing in MMZ4 - Grab the big Axe. Game becomes a joke.

Custom Shotgun - Resident Evil 2 - Shotguns are cool, but this one blows zombies in half, and the *bang* sound it makes is the fucking best.

Uhhh.... robot suit - Vanquish - can't really say anything that isn't already understood. I'd also be fine with Samus's in a pinch.

Pile drivers - Final Fight - yep

Oh god, I fuckin loved the holy hand granade. It was my favorite weapon of mass destruction in worms. And the Monthy Python reference only made it better.

If we're going there with the WTF weapons, gotta mention the Sexy Beam from Silent Hill 3. Obviously not for the beam itself but for the sailor-moon like transformation that is required to use it.

Obviously it's a secret costume that can only be acquired after completing the game. But the funny part about it all is that it's the only game in the series where you can find additional costumes for your player character (and it probably has to do not incidentally with the fact it's the only game with a female player character).

name a situation you could be in any situation literally any situation where the odds are against you or anything where a lightsaber WOULDN'T come in handy it's just the most efficient tool anyone can have sure you can name giant guns that can tear holes in the fabric of space & time but the negatives far outweigh the positives in weapons such as those such as weight of said weapon reload time X brought up a Proton Pack but prolonged use would destroy your back and wear you out especially if you're out of shape whereas if you were surrounded by vicious animals and men in heavy armor but all you had was a lightsaber well do i even have to say who would win

if terra had a lightsaber then the entire conflict of FF6 will be over in no time if you yes you X Dracula9 VladCT MooningFreddy Munchy NeoBelmont no exceptions were transported anytime in the past be it the Crusades or World War 2 and all you had was a lightsaber then you would literally csingle handedly conquer the world prove me wrong
just admit that the lightsaber is by far the best weapon anyone could ever have
