I finally got the Succubus Action Figure

I've been wanting to own the Castlevania Succubus Action Figure made by NETA for a really long time, and for my birthday one of my best friends gave me a $30 gift card for Amazon.com which I decided to use to order the action figure online.

I just got it today and I have to say that even with all the flaws I was warned about, she still looks very cool and like something I'm proud to display on my shelf with all my other weird little knicknacks I've collected over the years. It's true they messed her arms up by not painting them white like the rest of her body (I can understand them changing her skin from flesh tone to ghostly white at the last minute because that was how she was drawn by Ayami Kojima, but they should have made sure they re-painted her entire body), and her pupils are really messed up and make her look cross-eyed. However they did a good job scultping her body and I love the details on her flower-woven hair, her outfit (the corset, thong, and boots), and her wings. She has such a delicously evil look about her and seems like something you could show off in your room without even being a diehard Castlevania fan.

Anyways I'm glad I finally have her as a figure to display. The Succubus is probably my favorite enemy in the entire Castlevania series.  ;D

I got the Alucard and the Simon Belmont figures way back when. I was mostly satisfied, but still. The prototypes definitely looked better. :X

I was really only interested in the Succubus figure because the others were characters I never really cared about. I hate to admit it but I'm not much of a dedicated Castlevania fan, I have The Dracula X Chronicles on PSP and it's the only one I ever played, and as far as being a game I just didn't find it that enjoyable. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I'm just not into 2D platformers that much.

However some things I love about the series is Ayami Kojima's beautiful artwork, and I especially love how she draws the succubi. The Succubus is in my opinion one of the coolest-looking video game baddies I've ever seen. :)

I got Dracula a while ago. It's in a box somewhere.

I also got the Flea Man (without the succubus), and I LOVE MY FLEA MAN. IT IS MINE.

I know it's horrible for me to say that, especially on a forum for the games. But it's true, I thought once I bought and played The Dracula X Chronicles that I'd be instantly sucked into the series like I did Resident Evil, but it just didn't have that magical effect on me. I think maybe the reason why is because I'm so used to playing 3D Adventure games, and I just can't get into the 2D platforming gameplay. Maybe the 3D Castlevania games like Lament of Innocence are different and I would enjoy them better? Maybe I should try one of those 3D Castlevania games?

Anyways regardless if Castlevania didn't turn out to be one of my new favorite games, I still love the artwork for the series and I love the Succubus. Some day I hope to get Ayami Kojima's artbook Santa Lilio Sangre so that I can see more of her beautiful art. :)

I have Simon and Dracula doing some sort of awesome fighting pose in my room  ;D. I would have the others but they were sold out or something.

All of the figures in that line have such horrible faces.

Agreed :/ although I do like that they re-sculpted Dracula with his mouth closed, even if it doesn't make that large of a difference. Still, I have the original one as well as Alucard, and I really love them both, faults and all. I might get the other Dracula when I can spare the money.

Definitely try one of the 3D games! I'd recommend Lament of Innocence for you, especially because you like the Succubus. She's a pretty big deal in that game. :)

If you didn't like SOTn then I dno't think there's nothing in the saga yuo would like :P
Perhaps Lords of Shadow will change your mind, if you are accostumed with great 3D adventures games you will feel both lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness are really lackluster so I would recomend the 64 ones (if you can get past some incovenient camera issues) and LoS (What a better place to strat than a visually stunning reboot?)

Everything comes full circle
