The chair is against the wall.
I repeat: the chair is against the wall.
Left at 7:30 this morning with my dad to drive to Doylestown, stopped at McDonald's for some egg mcmuffins, then headed down to the County Theater. It's a really nice place and Doylestown is beautiful (I have a friend who goes there every other weekend and she told me so, but it's different to see it with your own eyes.) There was free popcorn and soda for everyone attending the screening.
Nick Murphy (the director) was extremely cordial, as was the rest of the cast (Aleksandra Svetlichnaya, who played the vampire Elizabeth, even complimented me on my little spiky bracelet after the film.)
The theatre was small, only 154 seats I believe, and there weren't a terribly large amount of people there. They showed their comedic trailers and shorts, like old-school Portal and Left 4 Dead 2 commercials, Legend of Zelda 80's trailer, God of War Indie trailer, Dig Dug trailer, Inglourious Plummers, Maniac Mansion trailer...
and then began the movie. All 8 minutes of it.
Well, it surpassed my expectations. A drastic change from their other stuff. It was actually really, really cool. I won't spoil anything about the plot...unless you want me to. Basically it's the beginning of a Castlevania movie as they envisioned it, and holy crap does it look good.
I recorded the movie on my iPod but I'm not allowed to post it online; it should be on his site in a week or two. (Besides, I don't know if you'd even want it anyhow, the side is cutoder a bit). I did, however, record the audio of the Q&A session (too dark in the theater to get good video) which is 22 minutes long. You can hear me asking a question on the transition from funny to serious and yelling out "Rondo of Blood, 1792!" when they were trying to remember the time period. (I was really the only CV nerd there, haha.) I got the whole thing except for a veeeery small part of the beginning. I will upload it, along with some pictures of the cast, later. I also have a poster autographed by the cast.
When asked if they could make it a full picture, the response was... "Send money!"
All in all, a pretty great time.
