Uhh....anybody in the Doylestown, PA area wanna check this out? A small theater is doing a Castlevania play it seems.

Goddamit....I'd drive down there to see this if I thought I could get away with it.

...Holy crap, I'm a Pennsylvanian.

And I actually have a chance of getting there. I may or may not be able. If I am though, I will definitely post pictures.

Well, it's actually a screening of a film by The Quarter Bin, who also did a God of War film. Apparently Richter is the only series character to make a debut, the rest look like original characters.

In that case I don't know if I will be able to get video. However, there is a Q&A session which I will probably be able to tape.

Also, the movie poster says "Symphony of the Night" at the bottom, but the plot is clearly Rondo.

Darkness has spread across Europe. Dracula has risen once more, and there is nothing to stand in his way but one man: Richter Belmont. The latest in a long lineage of vampire hunters, Richter must put all of his cunning and training to use to stop Dracula from taking over the world before it’s too late.
Castlevania will be premiering at The County Theater in Doylestown, PA on July 23, 2011 at 10:30am. Leading up to the debut of the movie there will be a screening of the production company’s previous short films, and after the conclusion, there will be a moderated Q&A with the cast and crew. Admission will be $5 at the door, and there is limited seating available.
Presented by TheQuarterBin.com in conjunction with The County Theater, Baked on Main, 40 Love Tennis Pro Shop, and Cyborg One, Castlevania is the latest fan film from the creative team that brought you God of War (Indie Movie), Inglourious Plummers, and Legend of Zelda (80s Movie). Directed by Nick Murphy, and written by Murphy and Josh Henderson, Castlevania was filmed in Bucks County, and stars local actors Nick Groch, Aleksandra Svetlichnaya, Beverly Rivera, and Don Manigly.

Nope, it's entirely a fan effort.

I do wonder if it's worth it for me now, though, because I honestly thought it was going to be a play. I can go, but I live 2 hours and 15 minutes away. When something I like is in Pennsylvania, of course it's at the opposite end of Pennsylvania. I wonder if it's worth the trouble to go there for a film and Q&A session.

Damn. It was made out to sound to be theatre and not just a movie on a theatre screen. That sucks.

Still, fan-made CV stuff like this should always get some attention, regardless.

if it's a film, it could eventually be made available somewhere online...

I e-mailed the director, Nick Murphy. (I was incorrect in saying that The Quarter Bin was making the film; they are sponsors.) He responded very quickly.

What I found out:

The film is short, only 10 minutes long. (His last video game films, like the parody "Inglourious Plummers," were shorts too IIRC.)
The Q&A session afterwards and the giveaway following it will bump the whole thing up to 2 hours.
The actors may be signing autographs.
They may be doing prop and flyer giveaways.

(Short, but fortunate in a way, because one of my favorite relatives will be in the state that day, as she is usually only once every month or so.)

The actors in the film hail from the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania.

I'd like to go, but I live about 2 hours away from and it's not worth it for a 10 minute film.

My concern is that a lot of his other game-based works (especially the God of War film) are comedic in nature. I wonder if this film will be a serious one. I think it will be, but again, I am not quite sure. I guess I'll find out.

Still looking forward to it.
