What if Mercury Steam were making Castlevania 3DS?

Guess I would need to see a trailer or play a demo. Who knows maybe Mercury Steam can develop a sweet 2d platformer.

LoS style combat would be pretty sweet in a 2D Castlevania.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

"most people today, like it or not, are not interested in 2-D games" - Dave Cox

Somehow I think a 2D platformor is the very last thing MS would consider making for a 3DS Castlevania

Then that would mean that 2D Castlevania is indeed dead, because as mentioned, they wouldn't be making a 2D platformer.

I would be disappointed.

The least Konami could do is give IGA one more crack at a 2.d CV game for the 3DS since Cox has already got LOS on the consoles.

I really want to see the Battle of 1999 game come to life but NOT at the hands of Cox.

In that case I would be very, very upset  >:(

Didn't Mercury Steam say that they have been working on 3DS hardware and had a tech demo of Castlevania running behind closed doors last year?

I don't believe they were the ones that made the tech demo.

Yes they did.. they said it was awesome how fireflies and stuff looked like in 3D. It was part of the "confirmation" of the CV3DS rumor last year.

Everything comes full circle

Personally I think 2.75D looks better on the 3DS than 3D. So they shouldn't make a 3D CV on the 3DS.

...

What's 2.75D? It's like the NES remakes they have going. I played OoT on the 3DS at GameStop and I wasn't impressed. It lokoed better on my N64 emulator with the iz3D driver running.. Sure, it was more colorful than wearing anaglyph glasses, but the 3D effect was tons better with iz3D than on the 3DS.
