A Metroidvania without a leveling up system that focuses more on platforming and exploration would be pretty interesting. It would be an evolution to Simon's Quest at that point.

They should make another Metroidvania without Level Up system. That would make the franchise popular again.

I agree 100% with this. The grinding leveling system made you too OP. I also think they should do away with heals and just use good old wall meat.

yep, most my replays as of late involve not allowing to heal yourself at save points.  i "cheat" a little before I get to a boss, but i have to "sacrifice" enough food to fully restore my health.

This is what LoI had and I really wish to see it used that system again in a metroidvania title.
