I've been playing these two games. More X-Com...

Anyone else get these games? X-com is kind of glitchy but it's damn fun.

Oh my God, I love XCOM so much. Sooooo much. I named all my guys after anime characters and I'm having so much fun with the research and stuff. It's not exactly the same, but it does a decent job of capturing the feel of the original, IMO.

A friend told me since I like Fire Emblem I would like X-Com.

It is very fun, and permanent deaths are everywhere unless you reload.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the maps and research though. Not to mention the bugs, and the odd money system.

With proper upgrades soldier rank-ups confer less chance to be slain and more chance to be critically wounded. I've still seen Colonels go down in 1 shot while a Squaddie once got 2 rezzes in the same battle. Was a crazy mission for sure.

Oh, I know, I beat the game with everything researched.

I just tried Iron Man Classic. Got raped pretty bad on my first Muton appearance. I think I messed up long before that.

EDIT: Cept foundry stuff, most of that seems useless to me.

Okay... well, I restarted my iron man classic. I am doing pretty awesome, til I hit a bug. Managed to bypass it, and am now facing retardation in a fight, I doubt I'll win.

However, I started to cheat a little bit because in the mission 2 before that one. The enemies were cheating. They (plural) got shots off in front of me, with all my guys in overwatch. Messed up stuff.

Haven't bothered with X-Com - my rig is too underpowered for that. But Torchlight 2 is an awesome game - and thankfully much better than Diablo 3. Been playing a lot of it, just rolled a new Outlander character for Veteran difficulty.... still trying to work my way around the skills. Previously, I was hammering stuff with my Engineer character (very good strong attack/defense tank build). Not being used to ranged combat, I am finding it slightly more difficult but not rage-inducingly so.
If a man chooses, and a slave obeys, then what are you if you choose to obey?

Haven't played X-com but it looks really cool. I like how they made it a full 3D strategy.

The trailer, though, completely fails at delivering the message that it's a strategy game. It could have been an FPS for all that they show in the trailer.

My first char is an Elite embermage, I've screwed her up pretty bad with skill allocation though. Died quite a few already.

Vet seems too easy, when I went through the beta and with the other classes.

A good strategy game for x360 that I'd recommend is Operation Darkness. It also has an overwatch type function, but I wouldn't rely on it like in X-Com. You'll probably find out why when you figure out what works and what doesn't.

But as I've said...... (about xcom) so many bugs, and I wish the modders go in depth and change core things. It'd be awesome... if they could make it closer to the original in terms of base and money management. Combat, is probably too extreme to change.
