New game by indie studio Lunar Software. Who might I note- currently consists of a grand total of 3 people.

It's an exploration First Person horror game. You have to explore an abandoned moon base and find out what happened to everyone, based on shit you find.

some fine features of the game

>non linear exploration
>no HUD, no health bars or points system, just run 'n hide
>no health packs or regen
>no lives, uses permadeath
>hazards are randomly generated, you won't face the same hazard twice
>Oculus Rift support

I was always wondering how it would be to play a game that you can't heal your self, just getting hit, die and then game over appears. Sounds very interesting............

So what's with indie devs and roguelikes these days?
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

They are fun because there's little repetition involved. It extends playtime by having random elements to it. And for a Horror game, a roguelike style is perfect, because it doesnt rely on scripted scares.
