You're right, but after several months of virtually no updates and all he has to say about it is "we're working on it"... doesn't sound too reassuring.

They should've atleast shown us a teaser trailer by now. Seems like the project is in "development hell", so to speak.

Why would you expect this to be different than any other animated movie?  Virtually none of them have any kind of update period, no blogs, and most take at least as long as this has been in production, much longer if they are of quality.

Dude all we're asking for is a 5 second trailer, a screenshot, SOMETHING. The people that are in charge probably aren't too confident if they won't even tease us with a snippet of this project. Comic-con was the perfect opportunity. I don't think Gotham Knight took this long, and even if it did we atleast got updated with info about it.

All we have to go on is a production blog that hasn't been updated since December and your "insider's info" conversations with Ellis.

I hope you're right, though.

"Movie time moves much slower than real time"

Whatever the hell that means.

It's likely that it means "The script is written and I am ready to start production, but I'm waiting on this, that, and the other..."

In other words, given the fact there have been ZERO updates in a long, long time, we can pretty much wave bye-bye to this project and put it on the shelf of what "could have been" right next to CV:Resurrection for the Dreamcast.

"Movie time moves much slower than real time" doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever. That shouldn't be an excuse.

It makes perfect sense to me.  From what I understand, Ellis is saying that the deleveopment of a movie takes longer than one expects.  Makes sense because if one thinks about it, he was in charge of doin the script which would probably get revised by other writers before being in production, which is longer than one would think; the watchman film was in limbo for years.  Also, since this is an american cartoon, it is is to assume that the voices are recorded prior in animating the show.

Unless it is a blockbuster sequel, movies takes several years for to actually get filmed or produced

Still, him and his team hasn't updated us with anything, so there's still reason to believe that this project has been shelved until further notice.

Unless anybody can show me some proof otherwise.

He's not part of a "team".  he was the writer, and he finished his job.  There is no reason to believe it is shelved until you hear otherwise.  Almost all animated movies, or regular movies for that matter, have no kind of update system.  Warren Ellis was the person doing that blog 99% of the time, on his progress with the script.  he finished it, why would he post more?

I have reason to believe it's shelved because castlevania's 22nd anniversary passed not too long ago and we still have no damn info about this. Again, another good opportunity wasted.

You know what, I don't even care anymore. Worrying about this movie is just a waste of time.

That is in no way a reason to believe it is shelved.  A VAST majority of movies have no update schedule.  Not hearing anything for less than a year means nothing.

Animation is not a quick process, it will take time to produce something good to show.

GROAN.

In August of 2006, I planned on having ParoVadius CONTINUE out for 7|15 2007.

Things take time that, unfortunately, sometimes doesn't occur!  He could be bogged down by other projects, other matters.

Patience, chickadees.  PATIENCE!!!  Get a hobby or something.
