Jorge was kind enough to give me a sound font to play around with, so I started taking Midis of non-NES Castlvania songs, and making versions that would be as accurate to the NES as possible. Some songs use one channel too many, mostly because I was just getting used to working with it, but they came out pretty nice. Here's what they are:
Blood Relations
Cross Your Heart (Haunted Castle version)
Dance of Illusions
Master Librarian
Opus 13/Slash*
Reincarnated Soul (Bloodlines Version)
Simon Belmont's Theme (Bloodlines Version)
Tower of Dolls (Castlevania Chronicles version)

For some reason one of them is in a separate folder (some reason = I screwed up when I uploaded it) so in that folder is:
Royal Chapel SotN

You might have noticed two other mp3's. Those are:
Twilight Princess Field (Ocarina of Time mix)
Twilight Princess Field (NES version)

*Get OpuSlash2.mp3, the other one totally sucks in comparison.

They all seem incredibly dry. The one exception being "BloodRelations." Though I think the wave forms you chose for it, like the rest, were lacking any sort of real good thought.

Wow, rly nice makings, made me wonder what would it be a SotN for the old nes in my early years. [i would go nuts on it, if that's even possible, bc i was one of the only kids i knew that could play games all night long, lolz]

anyway, all sound rly nice was a great conversion into the 8 bit, that goes specially for The Librarian and Reincarnated.
Dance of Illusions could sound a lil faster to give it's proper aura of "omg the big boss" and excitment. [spelling?]

But i totally give you thumbs up for the Simon's theme bc it was pretty cool, perfect and goes into my cellphone now :p

If you'll keep up the good work plz make me versions for Dance of Pales and Crystal Teardrop...and maybe The beloved one [HoD] would sound major kick assing 8-bit goth.

 ;)

Try to track down the .nsf from Chorus of Mysteries (if you can't find it, I'll scrounge up a link). That has 8 bit Dance of Pales, but for real.

Reminds me of the days of youth just playing the good old NES. Those tracks are actually quite good, my fav being Bloodrelations. But there is one thing that I'd like to mention. For castlevania tracks they remind me much more of Megaman then castlevania. That's probably due to the type of synth you were using. I bet you could do more if you could find a synth that replicates the ones that konami used in the 8-bit era.  ;)

Honestly, I don't remember which ones, but some of the later ones I did used the same synth sound as CV1. Some of the earlier ones like Blood Relations and Opus 13 used something more mega man like. When I first started doing them, I wasn't really trying to purely replicate the CV sound, but then I changed my mind at some point.

Well it's not just CV that has the CV sound. If you've played any other konami game such as Bucky-O-Hare, the Contra series, Metal gear's 1 & 2, etc. They all have one thing in common, The konami synth.  ;) When the first Castlevania came out konami had not yet established it's generic synth. But now you should be able to reproduce some more impressive tracks by using it. Give it a go man! :D

Actually I know at least Tower of Dolls and the music from the Chapel both use the Konami synth. Like I said, at one point I started using it, I just can't remember which songs use it and which ones use the more Mega Man-ish one.
