So that would mean that they pretty much lied about having a 25th Anniversary tribute to Castlevania, based on them saying a month ago that they were going to have something.

You think they're stupid enough to blatantly lie outright?
It was off the record. They didn't make an official announcement, so it's not like they lied.
I just love all the hate Harmony of Despair has when the "Haters" probably Clocked at least 50 hours in total gameplay

Whaaa whaa its a disgrace, whaa whaa there was no story, IT WAS FUN DAMMIT, STFU!
You liked it? Good for you.Personally I don't see the point in playing it. I don't have friends interested in playing it . Add to that it's a complete rehash of the previous titles.I might just as well play all of the metroidvanias.Plus I'm not even sure if I'm able to get it.And yes I haven't played it and prolly never will.
I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna miss much if I don't play it.

I realized that if you stop trying to categorize LoS as a true, traditional Castlevania title and view it as "Castlevania:The Movie:The Game," it becomes a lot more easier to enjoy :D

This is exactly how I view it. Sure, it's a little bit distorted, but LoS has that familiar anachronistic amalgam of ruined/ancient environments and random mythological beasts that are trademarks of Castlevania. Though, yeah, there were not enough traditional enemies/elements and a little too much in the way of high fantasy creatures and BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIIIIIGHT areas, especially for a game called Lords of SHADOW.

Number-one answer.

No. Producers are the "this is our schedule" and "this is our budget" people.

Games are not films. I think you are the one that needs to do the learning before trying to correct people.

....really.... Explain Kojima's Cameo as the Chupacabra and Snake Bandana and eyepatch.

Cause the Director Clearly wanted MGS to be in Castlevania, Oh wait! Kojima Productions!!!!

Where exactly were you while this game was being created? Kojima only oversaw the project while Cox had final say it's been stated many a time (Although I highly doubt Cox would have just said "no" to any of Kojima's suggestions anyway). Interestingly though I recall my Games Design lecturer saying something about Marketing having more power than the producer with certain decisions.

Oh & Hey there is a reference to Zelda in LOS, does that mean Miyamoto made it too?

I expect a Left Field Answer like that. but Explain how a concept originally Started to be a Simon's quest remake with many classic tunes and no dracula Belmont Turn into LoS about half way in? are you trying to say Cox intended to do that all on his own? I think not, Kojima and konami has more involvement that you'll know in this game.

Maybe Cox was Kojima's puppet, or he just decided to imitate Kojima because he's supposedly a great developer...
Or Konami's indecisiveness about whether Mercury Steam was making a Castlevania game or not could have easily made them decide to just make their own IP regardless of Konami's final decison.

I don't get the whole "blame Kojima" thing. Hasn't Cox himself stated that Kojima was there only as an advisor to offer advice and give tips?

Cox was the producer, not Kojima.

and lets face it, Hollywood probably would've done a much worse job at adapting Castlevania than MercurySteam

That I can agree with. I would rather have LoS than the Wes Anderson project that keeps on bobbing around. I pray that project STAYS cancelled. Truth be told, I'm not too keen on the CVIII animated picture that's supposedly in the works, either.

IIRC, Kojima's role in the game was an auxiliary one, just to kind of steer it in the "right" direction. Says Cox, but he's Cox. And we all know what that means.

@Kamui Zero

I am at an absolute loss for words here. No. Just no. C Belmont's post was defiantly NOT from 'left field' by any means.

I just... Where the hell do you come up with this??

Lords of Shadow's story was mainly handled by a comic book writer if I recall correctly.

A group of them and Cox. The comic book background probably explains things better than Kojima's presence.

From what could be pieced from Cox's interviews it is the most likely scenario.
Personally I am more or less believe in his words. Of course he will not spill everything about the inner workings of Konami, but I don't think that his every other word is a lie.
