It kind of sucks right now for cv fans at the moment and that is saying it mildly but how would a present day castlevania go about and i wonder how Julius Belmont would be in this world and how the setting would be like. Would it be like blade or like hellsing with the organization and the church( he was with a chruch last time I checked in DoS but I wonder at first) last time I checked or would it be like supernatural?

I want to know how you guys and girls would say what kind of setting a present day CV with Julius would be like?

I think it would be like Wall Street (the movie) .Well since Romania is now part of the EU (transylvania is a region in Romania) I think that Dracula might take advantage of the current financial situation to take over Europe. Actually he is  responsible of EU's financial crisis. He works as a trader.
He also infiltrated the Vatican. Actually, he is the Pope himself. Kidding  ;D.
Oh and he lives in Dubai now, in burj Khalifa.
As for Julius he is studying economics in order to save Europe from bankruptcy and from Dracula's evil influence. He likes to wear tuxedos, leather jackets and rides a Harley. Remember the RoB intro. Well imagine him doing the same thing while riding a Harley. Epic.
I don't know if Castlevania should have a modern setting. I always felt like it should take place in the past. Maybe because I don't like this century that much. And Castlevania is supposed to have this gothic/classical feel , in terms of music ,clothing, architecture etc. And frankly this period isn't gothic or classical at all.

It would work like Aria/Dawn of Sorrow.

What did you expect?
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Sadly I think it would be like Wallstreet meet Underworld/Blade crap. I'm not a big fan of Underworld to be honest. Though I do see Vlad and the Belmont clan to be pretty rich by then. At least Vlad he's an effing vampire. Belmonts could be iffy. Blade borrowed from Vampire Masquerade. AH Blah :-X back to topic at hand. Make it in Romania, add some magic, classic weapons, some modern weapons as well. Have the hero/hero's kick ass. I'm guessing that didn't help much...I'll get back to this, you have me thinking. Hmmm.

I think it *could* work, even as a "modern" wall-streety kind of thing. Imagine Dracula as a sinister corporate executive, cuttin' it in a perfect pitch-black businesssuit with a blood-red tie, having shareholder meetings of evil around a table made out of human bones. :o

I imagine it would probably be inside the castle, and therefore much like Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. Modern day characters in an ancient magical castle.

Only  modern day Castlevania would be 1999 or prior. Since between 1999 and 2035, nothing happened.

Sure it would end at the castle but what about if it would be some kind of secret war like in underworld or something along the sides of let's say Onimusha demon siege except with out the time travel. kind of like this

Onimusha 3 Demon Siege THE MOVIE PART 2/10 or something along the lines of Dmc that is one way it could be put it as.

i'm sure a LoS sequel set after the epilogue of LoS would have quite a few modern elements.  they'd probably find a way to have you jump on a snow-covered van as a nod to Dawn of Sorrow.  it'd probably be a bunch of gothic like indoor environments wiith modern day outside areas connecting them.

You enter Dracula's throne room and find a Tivo. He uses it to record his Soap Operas of Darkness while he fights adventurers.
