I've seen a lot of people power up a lot of different characters, but so far the most ass-kicking powered-up kill-em-all character I have seen is Shanoa.  On more than one occasion, I have seen someone play as Shanoa and make their way to the bosses on hard mode, killing everything in their path, then pwn the boss, and laugh at everyone else who is still near the beginning of the level.

first why soma is a god like in this game :


he can heal , high jumps , walking through the flame pillars , absorb bullets , high damage , rapid damage , the fastest character who can deal with back dash cancel with muramasa

don't worry peps i have the game since its first release on XB360 so i have the knowledge to make this thread

Soma is undisputed God.  Highest DPS, best and most reliable healing, can take shortcuts, and most utility overall.

I would argue Shanoa comes in second for DPS.

Whipper snappers (John, Richter and Julius) and Fuma come next.

Alucard is heavily situational.  On the DLC bosses, he kind of sucks, since his weapons have no range, and he has to constantly be jumping to inflict any damage (Soma can just float).

Maria has arguably the worst DPS, but better mobility than Yoko and Charlotte.

Yoko is a step above Charlotte with better DPS, but like Charlotte, sucks once she runs out of MP.  As such, she's limited to speed MP regen builds.

Charlotte sucks once she runs out of MP.  Even though she has way more spells that Yoko, I would argue Yoko has the better overall spells.

All IMHO of course, from my experience playing the Xbox Live version for over a year.

about alucard's range , he can use soul steal , heaven sword , hell fire etc ... those moves has a long range attack

... but their damage sucks.  Soul Steal uses too much MP and is slow, really slow.  Heaven Sword has a really small hit box, and on the bosses that count, he still has to jump to use them, nevermind they're really slow, so the DPS isn't great.  I know he's probably one of your favorite characters, but I'm sorry he's just not that high on the tier list in HoD, it's just a fact.  The tier lists in the game don't really mean much overall though, all characters are competent to some extent, and the most important aspect of the game I would argue is learning to dodge enemy and boss attacks, at which point, tiers don't really matter all that much anymore.

this is only to the 32/16bit characters.
Simon is super godlike due to his small hitbox.

Soma is for absolute n00bs or Farming (aka Somanways)
Alucard is for regulars and for farming (Yasu +1 brings back blendercards)
Richter is for Classicvania lovers who want a strong belmont
Yoko/Charolette/Maria fall under same Catagory under High Powered Mage, Recommend Robe Decolete and two Chaos Rings.
Shanoa is for Pros
8-bits are more for nostalgia goggles
Julius can dodge everything!, Pro Character
Jonathan is for BAMFs only (Bad Ass mofos) super pro character.

Soma has advantages with medusa soul and Puppet soul allowing him to skip major areas and making him the easiest to do the ch.10 glitch.

I've been playing Simon the most and his whip recovers faster than the other whip users and seems stronger. You can actually whip 4 times in the air before you land.  Also since he's small, his hitboxes allow him to dodge some attacks that the other chars can't.

This is all fun and all but who needs tiers then again it is just me I do not care about special ablities or playing hundred plus hours to get something I just got Simon and the time to whip the heck out of every thing, also I am not sure if this the right but I would really like to play with some of you guys and girls I have never played with board members before so it could be fun, but if there was one thing i ever needed it would be THE fastest boots in the game I can't whip anything when everyone is too fast for me
