Every franchise that was once great is now crap, Twilight Princess was horrible, it was easy, simple and repetitive, but pretty, Mario Galaxy was the same as Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3, *sigh* biggest let down of them all. Easy, short, boring, and the exploration factors were severely lacking.

Twilight Princess was NOT easy, that 99 room dungeon was insane, fighting those 3 armored giants at the end is pure luck. OOT was way easier than TP, there wasn't anything like that that required mad skill in OOT. Mario Galaxy I've only played a little of but from what I've played it's great. Metroid I haven't played yet but as long as it's not easier than the first prime I'll be happy with it. I can't wait for another sidescroller metroid personally, maybe for the ds. The prime games were great but I'm ready for another oldschool style one.

What? Metroid Prime was easy?

I don't remember this at all. Every boss the game threw at you took quick refelxes and skill. Pirates could sneak behind you easily, also. Even some of the lesser enemies had to be dodged quickly.

That game was great to me because I never felt safe. With every new door I opened I was horrified I'd run into those gangly missle-launching bastards again; especially the flying ones.

Metroid Prime 3's still got that "omg what's around the corner" sensation.

The first time the power went out in the Metroid Lab I was going "Oh shit oh shit oh shit" the entire way out. Meanwhile, I got pirates AND hordes of Metroids coming at me left and right.

It does take skill but once you get used to the 3d aspect and master using all the different visors, no more I'd say than the original or super. That's what I love about Metroid all the games take skill and patience.

Twilight Princess had one difficult aspect; The Cave of Trials.

All the dungeons were insanely simple, and the enemies were...lol. They were just pests, more than enemies.

All of the dungeons were simple, easy enemies, the bosses were PATHETICALLY easy, and the exploration factor wasn't there because of the space paradox the portals presented. The world was too big to traverse manually, but the portals made it too small.

Metroid Prime, did have some good parts. But I beat Hyper Mode in 5 hours...without dying, and I had only beaten the game on easy prior.

Nintendo is ripping their games souls out and tailor making them for gaming retards.

Im sick of this "hardcore gamer" bullshit. You are either a gamer or you aren't. There are a ton of people who do nothing but eat pizza and play halo all day (never owned a system till x-box) and they say they are hardcore. They are the ones that coined the name anyway.

Anyhow...

The cave of trials in Twilight princess was only difficult on the final floor. I almost lost trying to fight them all at once.

In general the 3-d games are easier than 2-d. There is a lack of good games on all systems because of lazy developers.

Nowadays you are either a graphics whore or a fanboy. BR is Shank not CV. It is ridiculous to think that it is better than CV. If it was CV then it would be what RE4 is to Resi, a series killer. Dumb it down and make it look pretty. Enough idiots will buy it.

I agree Cypress.

There is no hardcore gamer, or casual gamer. There is only the gamer and game retard.

People who play Halo all day and have never played anything but, are the game retards who have games tailor made for them to abide by their idiocy.

While the real gamers who actually hold passion in games are the ones who get fucked over because they are in smaller numbers than the Halofags and Wii Fit fags.

Developers are both lazy, and greedy. Whichever side offers mroe money, they go for, they can make easy games, and make more money off of it, so why not, right? :)

That's not nice.

Agreed, though after all the games industry is a business and I can't blame them for wanting to make money.

it's going to be the small independent production houses that make the intelligent games from now on. like I said before it's Wiiware/Steam/PSN and Xbla that are going to be the way forward for games with something with a bit more than " oohh that looks nice" and "yeah but this game is  better because everyone knows what its called" type games.

There's nothing wrong with people casually playing video games. If they don't want to get into it that much, thats there deal. There is no reason you should be saying "If you play video games you have to do it hardcore and all the time!".

Is everything you do hard core all the time, you do nothing casually?? If people didn't drink casually they'd be alcoholics.

Why the hell should you care what people do in their spare time? And it's not like it's destroying the industry. There are still very in depth games not for casual players, it's just now there is a wider verity for people to find something they may enjoy that they never knew they could.

And if you don't like those games don't play them.
No need to bitch and cry about something so dumb, Vermanubis

Awesome points.

Games were made in the first place to be just that - games. Something to do in your spare time that was fun. In a way, casual gamers uphold that standard.
