Topic: Guy with a pirate hat??? (CoD)

Ive been playin CoD again and I was just in the E Machine Tower. On the 3rd floor right after you break the wall with that big piston thing theres the room with all the Dead Barons. Well the first time I got there I didnt notice anything odd I was fightin thru the room and all of a sudden I died just fell over dead I was like WTF!!!! Cause all the barons only hit me for like 5.

So I load the game again and get back there and start playin a lil more carefully and notice one of the barons is wearin black instead of purple and hes got a pirate hat on and he also kicks my ass off me. One hit was 135. I didnt catch his name cause I ignored him and cleared the rest of the room so itd just be me and him so I could steal from him etc. So he hits me and Im down to like 80hp so Im like "oooo ooo ooo run!!!"

So I go back out to the piston room and summon my fairy and heal up with healing circle and go back in and start fightin the barons again. This time the guy in the pirate hat doesnt spawn. =/

So Ive cleared the room about 20 times now goin back and forth from the piston room to the room with stairs and the save room and theres not been a guy with a pirate hat since. And hes not listed on the map on IGN as even bein in that room. All it lists is the Dead Baron Lv31

...So wtf? Anyone else seen this guy?

I believe you have to go in there w/out any ID's summoned for him to appear, he's pretty tough but yields some nice exp.

That cant be right I had my ID out the entire time both times. He was only just ever there the very first time I entered the room.

I might be wrong, but i think that this guy must be a Mirage Duke, an enemy from the tower of ever more, that appears randomly, like the golden bones!!

Could be but all I know is he appeared both times only on the very first time Id ever been to the room (went in first time and died and then came back on reloading) never again. And I raised my mage ID and a few others to get skills I was missin in that room so I cleared it easily 50 times or more.

But he was also a 6th spawn. Theres 5 spawns of the baron in there and both times there was 5 barons and him. /shrugs

Yeah, that's the Duke Mirage, I met him awhile back in Cordova Town for some bizzarre reason. Several pages back there's a topic about it.

hunh, I've only ever fought him  when I didn't have an  ID out. I guess it is just straight up random. Yeah that second tower was the shiz, got to fight some real enemies there. It's a shame it won't let you go back through it for fun.

I was never able to conquer that thing. I died at some level in the teens. So close!

The trick if your having trouble is to level up to at least 90 and have a maxed out devil class ID. Also buy lots of potions/superpotions.
