Maria in NItM is an overpowered (read: BROKEN) character in an already ridiculously easy game, but the variety of her attacks and just overall craziness of it makes it worth it. I mean, the game is already boring as hell once you reach the 50-60 level mark as Alucard. You may as well be able to spam through the castle in funky style with Maria. I also prefer the spirit gun attack to the doves. It's more aesthetically pleasing to my eyes, and if she's such a spiritual powerhouse why would she be throwing birds at people?
I mean in that version, Maria had the same moves as RoB
Seems to me that if she was that good with animals before, that she'd only be better with them at 17. Maria's personality also doesn't seem like the type to go learning a bunch of martial arts either. But then again, maybe after her first (failed) trek she really knew what she was up against. And she IS realted to the Belnades. What really breaks NitM Maria is her triple jump, because she can dodge everything in the game with it (except Galamoth).
Can you really say that an adult would attack just by throwing animals?
