So while I was playing some Harmony of Dissonance yesterday, for some reason, I started to think about the final boss fight in Portrait of Ruin. Adn whether or not I

not for me, that place is occupied by cod dracula. best first form battle ever, what with all new attacks, awesome music and all.

the second form was worse, but it was still much better than portrait's. it was a very similar design (a giant brown devil), but cooler, what with the use of blood for his design and attacks.

Actually, I agree, it's probably the best one for me too. There are several other good ones though, Bloodlines and CotM I like alot.

I found it awesome to fight Death and Dracula at the same time but CoD takes the cake when it comes to the best one.
Holy Cross is best Item Crash.

Seeing Dracula & Death team up for the first time was a nice surprise at first, but the cheesy dialogue & all that accompanies it just killed the experience for me.

CoD's Dracula was okay, but I didn't like it either because the game woulda been better off without him, just like PoR.

That is a great boss fight, and one of my favorites, but I think it's too easy. I also like the CoD final boss. Another good one, I think, is the DXC final, Since they added that last form of Dracula into it.

I'm not really sure what my favorite one is though
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I thought it was a lot of fun.  I generally dislike final bosses though and would rather just be done with them.  I didn't like the fact that you could die in one or two hits if you slip up and then have to play it all over again, which can be pretty long.  I could have beaten it eventually, but I don't really have the patience for that sort of thing anymore, so I just bought a cheat device so I could get it over with and unlock Richter/Sisters/Hard mode.  That's all I used the cheat device for though (plus unlocking Axe Armor).

As weird might sound this one, my favorite final boss-fight is with menace from DoS. Awesome boss, very nice music and good difficulty!!

Wow.. I really disliked the final boss fight in PoR. It just felt messy and random and not epic enough. The idea is something I could see in a fanmade hack, but not in an official Castlevania game. I prefer to fight the two separately, and in much larger rooms too. It's much more epic that way.

My favorite final boss is actually the one in Super Castlevania IV. Not because of Dracula himself (he's kinda boring) but the whole atmosphere that builds up when you reach the castle keep. It's soooo eerie! To have Dracula turn into some huge demon would probably have ruined the whole thing.

I think CoDs and DXCs final boss battles were better, in my opinion. It was very out of character for the 2 of the to fight together.

not I. I can't stand it, actually. Death floats around and tries to smash you, and its pretty easy to dodge. He just seemed like a useless environmental gimmick, and too weak. Now, if he attacked similar to how he did in the actual Death fight, complete with scythes, then I would have forgiven Dracula's completely original battle style (3 sets of fireballs? Shocking!)
DXC takes my favorite, I loved 3rd form Dracula, very nice.

Something is extremely epic about battling Dracula in CoD using Trevor.
A wild Ralph appears.
Wild Ralph uses Teleport.

I actually totally forgot about Menace. And yes, that fight is really awesome to. They way he takes up almost the whole screen and having the player have to dodge all the flying "headcrabs" (sorry Half-Life), fellt like playing a boss in a shmup.

i'unno.

SCIV has my favorite final battle overall because of the whole leadup with the Room of Associates, and the atmosphere is absolutely brilliant.

CotM has my favorite music, though.

The only thing that really bothered me about PoR's final battle was that Jonathon and Charlotte were able to defeat both Dracula and Death at the same time. I just can't see that happening. They should have saved that battle for a Belmont.
