Help, IGA's presentation at GDC

Earlier this year IGA did a talk at GDC about 2d games and their viability today. Someone posted a link at the forum but I can't seem to find it. A quick google search gave me a few overviews of it but I was wondering if anyone had a more detailed link somewhere?

Thanks  :)

Yeah, I was there, and I'm a fast typist, so I copied the whole thing roughly word-for-word and included slide images. Iga's a great guy and was a pleasure to talk to. I sent this to Kurt, but he kinda forgot to upload it :P

This is neat. Thanks for posting, CapComMDb.

Although one thing I don't understand, is if he realizes that 2D games aren't going to be appealing to the majority, then why does he also say he's trying to make games more accessible so that the non-hardcore can enjoy them? That just doesn't make sense.

It's a sad truth, by the way, about not many knowing how to do pixel art anymore. Many who did have moved on (no longer a part of gaming), or are too concerned with 3D modeling, and all the new designers aren't that interested and also usually don't have the know-how. Thankfully there are still some pixel art games being made. Though I wouldn't mind a modern console game using traditional hand-drawn animation. (If I'm not mistaken, the new Wario Land for Wii uses this style rather than pixel art, but I can't be certain as I've only seen a small YouTube video of it.)

A new linear, action-platforming, tough-as-nails Castlevania game would be amazing. Oh well. *Goes back to playing Castlevania Chronicles*

2.5D games are neat, by the way. Goemon's Great Adventure, Kirby 64, Contra: Shattered Soldier, Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins, Dracula X Chronicles... Yeah.
