 :)

I'd like to see more of this baroque influenced music in the series.

Indeed.
The Garibldi Temple in Curse of Darkness has as somewhat similiar sound, but it's nowhere near as good as the Wood Carving Partita.

Super Castlevania IV's "Secret Room" has a SNES-sounding Harpsichord in there.  It's also nice 'n baroque in my opinion... not as much as Wood Carving Partita though.

I ADORE every bit of music that came out of that game. I sometimes forget how brilliant it is. My favorite track however, is one that some people consider to be the weakest one. I beg to differ;

Soooo beautiful and comforting, but still kinda eerie.

Ah yes...  that one is indeed underrated --actually CV4's entire soundtrack needs more remixing love.  Try this one --best dungeon theme evar!

Wood Carving Partita is one of my favorites in the entire series. Garibaldi Temple is my favorite in CoD. Both seem underappreciated.

Not really. It got the orchestra treatment at Leipzig. Michiru Yamane played the harpsichord.

CV4's soundtrack to me is timeless and transcends allother games, up to that time, at least.

The mood and compositions are so mature, and epic. And the basslines were groovy as hell!

One of my favorite CV tunes of all time here:

In reply to #11:

Yeah, I love all those. I'd add to the list he Forest Monsters (stage 2), Limestone Cavern (Stage 3), Cellar (stage 8), and Room of Close Associates. This game just has a fantastic soundtrack. Bloody Tears and VK are two of my favorite renditions. About the only thing I think they could have had was a better credits theme.

WC Partita is one of my favorite Castlevania tunes...Crystal Teardrop (SoTN's music for the water area) and Requiem for the Gods (music in the chapel) would probably be my faves, though. <3
