Yes Konami needs to pay more attention to what Capcom is doing, because they've got the bigger balls in this case.

Such a collection would be plagued with emulation errors, I'm sure. I doubt the programmers would do anything more than a half-ass job.

Besides, that's a lot of needless discs. You could easily fit most of the games in the series on one DVD--all of them excluding the PS2 games. If it were released for PS3, ALL of them could be released on one Blu-ray Disc, including the PS2 games. Heck, it wouldn't even have to be a dual-layer disc, since 25 gigs would be plenty, with tons of room to spare for all sorts of extras.

They could always make it a downloadable deal like megaman 9 too, would save them lots of money that way as well.

Wouldn't be a good deal for us as consumers, though, since we'd likely have to pay for each individual title. $5-10 times how many games? Yeesh.

Yeah it'd really depend on how they market it. If they choose to go that route it would blow ass bigtime.

With how video games are worth these days I doubt it'll just all go for that much money each. The entire collection of NES, the Genesis game, and SNES games alone would probably only be worth $10 or so in itself. Maybe a bit more, but $10+ a game is a little much. Maybe for the later games, sure, but not the early games.

I would be happy with CV3 and rondo on wii vc. I mean, WTF, Japan has Rondo, Europe has cv3, and where is bloodlines for that matter? I think it would also be smart if they made the 1999 story retro, like mega man 9.

It wouldn't be smart, it would be very silly, very disappointing, and one of the worst moves the team would make.

Why? You would rather another one of the seemingloy endless castleroids that have long since lost their inspiration?

There is nothing silly about it, so long as they could actually pull off a good game like that. Disappointing, probably, I doubt they could pull it off. And the worst move? Have you played Judgement yet?

A 3D game would be appropriate for the 1999 event. IGA would need a new director for that to work, though(since the current one seems to lack any sense of creativity whatsoever). And Judgment was not the worst move. The hate for the game is getting pretty annoying(not because it's being hated, but the way people bash it).

I am all for another 8-bit Castlevania, but I don't want to see the 1999 story done in 8-Bit. I'd rather see that in 3-D than anything else. While I don't think 3D graphics mean anything in how fun the game is, if you want to get across a serious and important event, detailed 3D graphics would be the way to go.

they should save the 8-Bit for another side project, and they should make it happen soon

Agreed, I'm actually enjoying that game. Harmony of Dissonance is the worst move that team has made!

an epic series culmination deserves more than outdated looks and gameplay that ends after like 30 minutes.

a retro game would work more for a sidestory of some sort, a game that has no real impact on the overall thing, not the final episode of a 1000 year old war of dracula and the belmont clan.

it would only greatly hurt the series.

to compare, imagine how much disappointment would there be if some sort of epic storyline with great cg effects, direction and casting would have its final episode done in hanna barbera cartoon style, or switched to uwe boll/anderson or some of the other shitty directors. :o

HoD is no where near being the worst move. What's with the hate for that game? It's part of the insane standards most people here have. "HoD sucks 'cause it's easy HURR HURR HURR!"

I can see how the story element might not fit as well, but the arc with a Belmont would fit the style of gameplay. I also think the story could be told 8 bit or 16 bit, and be done very well. Even if not 8 or 16 bit, just very well made HD srpites in a classic gameplay style.

As far as Judgement, I think you almost have to be a Castlevania fan to like it, or to excuse it even. At least it doesn't appeal to hardcore fighting gamers. I really think it was a bad move as it tarnishes the image of the series. I played it and enjoyed it for about five minutes, but it is of pretty low quality IMO.

I like HoD :'(
