Belmont, right? I don't know if this has been discussed before but I have been meaning to make a post about this since the game first came out.

They're all Belmont descendants. Distant relatives, I guess.

Well, it was only one person who actually alluded to actually hunting creatures of the night.

If they're Belmont descendants, it's no wonder the Belmonts had the Vampire Killer taken away from them. Sending any of them to fight Dracula would be like sending a fly to battle a circular saw.

The old lady, don't remember her name at the moment, said that her grandfather taught her how to fight and that they would hunt monsters together.

If her grandfather was a direct descendant, he might be Richter.  Since he's the last known Belmont at the time.

The old man talks about his ancestors being Vampire hunters and he thinks thats why he became a priest.

The old woman talks about how her grandfather used to train her and she watched an epic battle from the light house, which I assume could possibly be Richter or someone closly related to him. His father, an uncle or cousin or something. Because the last epic battle would have been SotN I would think.

The little girl talks about her dreams of a man wielding a whip, which could be the memories of her bloodline.

I think there were more, so if anyone else remembers them, write them down.

Also, I don't know if it's directly said or just implied, but Albus takes all their blood because it's Belmont blood, not because its just random blood
What a horrible night to have a curse!

They are all related to the Belmonts, which makes perfect sense because since they have been around for so long, the family would spread after, you know, 800 years.

Yes, they are all descendants of the Belmont clan.  It is still unclear why there isn't a Belmont vampire hunter at that time period.  Perhaps, the game coming out for PS3/xbox360, which seems to be a sequel to SotN, will enlighten us.

They're Belmont "descendants" just enough so they have a reason for appearing in the series, but aren't close enough to the center of the family tree to actively mingle with long-term continuity.

You know, basically the same crap Reinhardt and the Morrrises are.

And Igarashi-sama claims to have retconned games that confused, contradicted, or otherwise muddled the timeline.   ::)

All we know is that the Belmonts "went missing." All part of Dracula's plan to put the bloodline on ice (literally), except for the one small fact that one hundred years have not yet passed. So-o-o-o-o... *peeks back at Konami's official timeline* ...Chalk this up to another gaiden excursion on Igarashi-sama's part?
