Yeah the song is pretty good. It's my brother's favorite CV song.

You should check out this remix..you might like it. There is a techno mix of Awake on the site as well along with a great remix of the clocktower theme.

Yeah, fantastic song...

unfortunately one of the few original songs of COTM; the rest are remixes. One of the other ones, "Proof of Blood" is also great.

I love the beat, and the finale of "Awake."

Hell it was a great idea to start the game in the catacombs anyway.

I think Fate to Despair is a muuuuch better song than Awakening. But that's me. Shame about the Chapel Tower where it plays though... the memories... the frustration...  :-\

Oh yes. The Marionette/Bloody sword combo is rather evil! Take one step, get instantly cursed and slashed to death before the gorgeous BGM even kicks in. At least if you're on a low level when you first enter the tower. Even at this day, I'm still not very good at CotM.  :(

I always thought Castlevania series had great opening area songs. Though I wouldn't always say they're the best. It is hard to pick just one best in some of the titles.

Awake is one of my fav CV songs of all time. Jorge's remix and the other one are pretty nice, but I also like this one a lot:
