Sucky? What the hell are you smoking? Soma's one of the most broken characters in the series. And Ridiculous? Only if you think plot twists in general are ridiculous, in which case I bet you hate No More Heroes or the Tales games.

I dont' think Soma's that great of a character, but it would have been interesting to see him in Judgment. He could have been a Shang Tsung type of character who could have used everyone else's moves.

Soma's about as effeminate as any other Castlevania main that Kojima did the art for. Hell, he's manlier than her Simon, that's for sure...

Bellbottoms are better than hooker boots and a woman's jacket is better than tight black leather outfits with extra feathery boas.

Face it, Kojima's style just makes characters look feminine, no matter what gender they are.

Do you know what that happened?
Because Soma was supossed to be a woman but IGA changed it at last moment. Kojima had already the final design for her, so she just got out the long hair and the bress and: Tata! there was born Soma.

And I'm not joking, that was true!

i just think he is childish and has the silliest story ever...and not even Julius saved those games...

It's true: he was a whiny prick, but the plot device of potentially becoming Dracula was different.

Mostly I just want him there because he was very powerful, and think how they could use the DOMINANCE thing during a fight (could steal people's powers).

Soooo, Soma sucks because he wears a womans jacket and is effeminate? I fail to see the connection, but whatever...  LOL @ Castlevania fans and their obsession with MANLY men....

I thought this game was supposed to cater to old school fans in some vague way, with Aeon being there as a newbie and Shanoa there to cash in on OoE. Like 1980s-1990s. Or to be on a stupid note, Legends ov Castlevania.

Soma isn't that old as far as I know, unless you count 6 years as roughly 60, You goddamn hipsterhead.

Actually, I heard that in the Japanese version he is.  For some reason the versions outside of Japan refer to him as an exchange student living in Japan.  However, it would make more sense if he actually was Japanese.  After all, Mina who seems to be his closest friend lives in Japan and they seem to have known each other for many years.  It's most likely that either a mistake or intended change occurred when the game was translated from Japanese.

Geez...I'm not asking for the characters to be super macho men but at least have them wear the appropriate clothing and act the part.

Call me weird (or just european if you will), but I don't think it's inappropriate for guys to wear women's clothing  ;D Not that Soma is actually wearing a dress or anything. (though that would've been rather interesting).

 >:( I'm with you there; I call front row seats!! ;D

Hmmmmm... now that i think on it, Soma's "dominance" kinda reminds me of Kirby in a way...
