yeah me too, I find the shopping a bit pointless,  i mean when popularity goes that's it you're in trouble with the quests and money... ah well at least i know there are people playing it lol

I think it's pointless to mandate online participation in games in order to get full value or experience.

Like 360 games that give you certain achievements if you win 15 online games or anything like that.

As for the item exchange and such, it's little more than an Action Replay for games that aren't Pokemon.

I'm still playing it.  Fallout 3 took my attention away from it.

That's not to say I don't look forward to getting back to it, but Fallout's just too engrossing right now.  Totally deserved the Game of the Years it got.

I have to hand it to KCET, OoE was able to milk a near identical engine to that of DoS but somehow it feels so different.  The linear levels, the focus on equipment switching and the welcome barrage of enemies flooding each scene -- there's much more focus on the action rather than the exploration now.  This may turn some newer fans off, but trust me when I say it's the closest link from the IGA era to the oldschool one since... I can't remember when.  The high difficulty is much appreciated too.  Especially the kick ass bosses.

That said, I still see to much copy-pastaing in the background art, and some areas are too small -- like what's the point in calling it an area?

IMO OoE is the worst 2D IGA game, but I can't quite explain the reason why...  I'm quite shocked by how much I don't want to replay it.

The online shop and Vs modes improve on PoR's swag, but more needs to be done to make such content quickly and easily accessable via the main game.  I shouldn't need to log-in over and over and over and over for some hardcore shopping action.  I should be able to login once at the start of my game and have all the online options at my fingertips whenever I'm ready.

Some people are obviously still playing the game, but you didn't know that because the online content is so thoroughly serperated from the main game --and its a rather clunky process to save your game, shutdown your DS, restart, make a wifi connection, and then go looking for shops and Vs partners on the off-chance that just maybe someone else in the world might be doing exactly the same thing at exactly the same time.

Could you imagine how slick it would be have some sort of in-game email or messenger service? or how about an online message board like the castlevania dungeon?  It would be so much easier to see who's online, when, and hookup with other fans to get the most out of these online shops, races, and whatever else they come up with.

As a matter of fact....  you could completely eliminate these cookie cutter shop characters and make online shopping the only way to buy shit.  Now that could shake things up..

Perhaps these ideas are a bit much to ask of the DS though....

I'm on Lv. 1 Hard Mode. No clue why since I got all the Boss Medals. No 100% item completion, either.

I didn't even realise the game was out in Europe yet! But then I saw it today in a store. I'm kinda busy with work and personal stuff, but I'm really looking forward to sink my teeth into it. Soon. Very soon.

Haven't played it in a while. I was sort of bummed that, to me, the best and most interesting levels in the game were the three practice levels.
