All I want from Nintendo is a Twilight Princess-esque remake of A Link to the Past.

Or a new serious Zelda game with no gimmicks
EX: TP thing with the wolf
    WW The sailing
    MM The 3 day crap
I just want classic Zelda! Is that so much to ask for?
Also, where was some new Mario info?
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I restate that a gimmick-less Zelda game would be great to have. But, technically, only Zelda 1, 2, and Link's Awakening were gimmick free and all about adventure. Even the awesome Link to the Past had the Light World/Dark World with the Magic Mirror (it was a new idea at the time, and well executed, but it still was a gimmick-type element that came to define how the game was played and mastered).

Anyways, yeah, a new DS Mario should be in development by now, I'd hope. Maybe E3 will tell us something.

A gimmick-less Zelda would have some good points, but also some bad.

On one hand, we'd have a pure Zelda experience, complete without anything to detract from the central adventure.

On the other, it'd be awfully dull without anything to make it different from the others, nothing new to hold onto. And admit it: Zelda needs some change, so deliberatly throwing away any new features would be one of the worst things that could be done with it.

So, what I really want is a Zelda game with some kind of gimmick that doesn't just add a little variety, but rather radically changes the whole game. Or just re-new the whole formula, perhaps in a SotN-esque fashion.

You may have a point, but I want to throw out what a gimmick-less Zelda might mean: New equipment and areas (and not in a halfhearted sense). In the three Zeldas that aren't run by a central gimmick, each earned item doesn't have a one-use-only policy attached to it. Each item goes beyond the dungeons, and you have to combine what abilities each item gives you, rather than focusing on one item, say, the Wind Waker baton, to guide your travels.

The glory of gimmick-less is the freshness and usefulness of the items, and how they can be used to awaken the secrets of varied environments. The creativity falls on making a stash of items that are new enough that can be used in a variety of scenarios. In an ideal situation, the world will be set up as one sprawling map like Zelda 2, where a number of valuable things are hidden off the beaten path. (IE: NOT the rupee-filled voids of Twilight Princess).

I definitely want a new Zelda title that goes back to it's roots IE Zelda I, II and AlttP. While I've enjoyed playing some of the other more later games I honestly think that Nintendo is sacrificing or drowning out the main quest of the hero with a bunch of side quests that, in my opinion waste time just to make the game seem longer. I'd rather play a Zelda game that's like the Zelda III concept but with all new and proper Zelda gimmics the all fans would love and accept.

You got an art image up on screen. :P ...Really, though, I didn't want any more of it spoiled. Miyamoto said in a round table discussion on IGN that he wanted to reiterate that there will be lots of train riding (not sure if that's good or bad).

But, more importantly, Miyamoto announced 'Zelda Wii' is deep in development with a more mature Link than ever before; also, it will likely highlight WiiMotion Plus-style gameplay! ;D

Yay Motionplus for Zelda! It will be freaking awesome to use that with sword fights.
