Want more towns in future Castlevania games?

yeah,  well OoE's town was just a village, but it's the closest we've gotten to a true human settlement since CV2.

but yeah, I think the future of 2-D CV games, should involve at least one town, and like connect the areas like CV2 did (I think OoE's select and warp map kind of cheapens the travel. that's the only problem I had with it, really ( I think after the castle appeared, they should have changed the music of all the previous areas into classic CV themes, even the village having the CV2 town theme woulda been awesome.  and the forest levels having bloody tears.   etc. etc.   ah well) . but what OoE has achieved is so many locations, while also offering a satisyingly massive Castle for Dracula (and some bosses too!) '

but yea, ya think they will expand on CV's world?

Yeah, I thought another town in OoE would have been nice, but I still think they did a fine job. What they should do if they include more towns in future games is keep the same towns that were in Cv2. It's the same region, you'd think some towns would be there for a few centuries. Like its awesome that RoB had Aljiba from Simon's Quest. We need more of that. Also, more Cordova Town!
What a horrible night to have a curse!

When i first heard there was a town in OoE and that it takes place sometime after SotN I got excited. Really excited. I thought "Yes finally I can know why the Belmonts are missing!" I really thought this was going to be a town who had at least had a person who knew where they were but instead we get granny-Belmont who first appears in a haunted mansion(best level evar) asking why I'm finished so soon. She doesn't tell us anything other than that her grand pappy knew secret arts.

Same thing in PoR. "Sequel to bloodlines? and Eric Lecarde? yay! now how did the morris' get teh whip?"

But yea towns are cool just as long as they have a purpose otherwise, meh.

Yeah, more towns would be cool.  But they would need an actual purpose other than just being a town.  For example, there could be a town overrun with monsters and you have to defeat and drive them out so that it's safe for the townspeople.  At which point, the people will come out and some shops with new armor and weapons will open up.  Also, there could be some missions to complete to get various items and possibly learn skills that are either needed to complete the game or at least help make the game easier.

I agree with most of you. More towns in Castlevania - be it 2D or 3D. I believe the reason OoE had so many copy pasta corridors and rooms is for saving memory space, since a DS game probably can't contain much more. So what I personally would love to see is another Metroidvania for a stationary console. We haven't seen one since Symphony of the Night, and that game still wins after all the other Metroidvanias we've seen so far. Imagine a Metroidvania for PS3, 360 or Wii. I'd jizz in my pants if they announced such a game :D

I mean.. what's the deal with handhelds anyway. I can't play on a bus or train because it'll make me dizzy and I can't focus or enjoy the game. Thus why I use emulators

About the DS Castlevanias, from what I remember, none of them have used the full 200-something megabites of space available on the DS cartriges. In fact, I think OoE uses somewhere around 60 megs, which is less than half the full space of the DS Carts.
