symphony of the night

I've been trying to buy this game on Ebay and it just won't sell for any cheaper than 15.00 or even 20. And those are scratched up copies of the game. You'd think that since its available on PSN, and Xbox Live it would be more reasonable?

Does anyone on here have a copy that's scratched up and is willing to sell to me for 7.99 maybe 8.99 plus shipping, I have a paypal account btw.

It's funny cause I was playing CV 64 and Legacy of Darkness when I was 14 and those "bad" games in the series were the ones that I fell in love with. And yet I've still managed to not experience this game, other than watching playthroughs of it on youtube. Which is good if you can't play the game, I guess.

I'm under the impression that Symphony of the night is the first and last of its kind.

Even though their have been many games in the CV series that have moved away from platforming and focused on RPG elements, none seem to capture the same elegance and soul that Symphony has.

I've never had so much fun watching a game being played in my life!

Dont over hype the game before you have a chance to play it.

Yes it looks beautiful ( Except the horrid looking polygons of some enemies/areas )and yes there's a crap load of stuff to collect ( even though 90% of it is useless by the time you collect it )

It's not as good as some people make out, it's too easy, the level design is mostly long boring coridors, nearly every weapon you find in the game is outclassed by something you already have before you even find the item as such diminishing the sense of variety that should be there and the inverted castle just feels tacked on to make it longer ( especially the fact that you can go anywhere in the castle right away or miss most of it out completely and go to the final room.

By all means it's worth a play through but I would personally try to find a copy of Rondo instead.

Wow. Are you sure we're talking about the same game? Did you stop playing after 3 rooms?

SotN had the best level design of all the exploration style games, hands down. Almost every room had its own little quirk, and special detail.

I think he means HoD. I do agree there is a certain elegance about the game the others don't have. It must be the little details, the memorable character, and impression it left on everyone.

You make some good points, really constructive and I understand what your saying. But frankly I think Symphony is better than the DS games and the GBA games. And I'd have to buy a PSP to play Rondo, I already own a PSX so it be cheaper to just get a copy of symphony, since you dislike the game would you be willing to sell me your copy, if you indeed have one.

I have a paypal account.

No I deffinately meant Symphony. Sorry guys but it is overhyped.

Theres no better looking castlevania for sure, graphically but I feel the second castle was just an excuse to artificially extend the gameplay and like I say, most of the items are outclassed when you get them.

I don't dislike the game It's good for a playthrough every once in a while, most rooms do have a quirk of their own but a lot of other castlevanias do too... the ghost man and his dog in 4 for example, or the lilith and succubus in the bathtub of Aria.

I think the gameplay could be improved with a difficulty ramp up and a better placement of weapons so you get them in  a useful sequence.

Sorry Malus, it's a PAL copy of Sotn btw, im a UK gamer.

You're not going to get it for under $20, unless there is a miraculous stroke of luck involved, you simply aren't. Just deal with it and pay the price for it. Be happy if you can get it for $40.

It's still worth every penny and don't be cheap, otherwise you can't expect to get anything.

If there's anything that would make me hate the classic Castlevania games, it most certainly isn't the games themselves; but rather, that ignorant fraction of their fanbase.

I just saw on Ebay a copy that sold for $16 with $4 shipping and included everything (it was greatest hits version). It's possible to find it cheap, you just need to keep an eye out
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I got a perfectly working copy at a flea market for $12, and my sister found another copy for $18 about a year ago.

Don't assume everyone's gonna have the same bad luck you get, dude =P

Yep! I got my copy from a used game store for about $12 and it's almost mint. You need to look at flea markets, mom & pop games stores, and places that are generally off the beaten path if you don't wanna pay a grip for it.

It's really stupid what people ask (and get) for copies of this game. It's a great game, sure, but it's not $75 great.
