Hey guys, good talk, but this is LOS topic, not the "IGA's screwed timeline" one ;)

And this isn't the first time we've went off subject due to the fact Cox is too busy with reading comics than releasing any new information for us to discuss. So, sorry Masta we will get back on topic ;)

Yeah, I can't think of anything to say about LoS that hasn't already been said.
It's a game. That's all I know at this point.

I'm curious about the music. We already know LoS will have remixed classics, but what about the new songs? I wonder if they will sound anything like Castlevania? It was always the strong melodies that made Castlevania music so good. Modern action games don't have music like that, it's more about atmosphere than actual melodies. Which is kinda why oldschool video game music is much more memorable than the orchestrated big budget scores of video games of today.

I dont know if this is an official track, or a track from another game or movie  but I discovered this on youtube though it probably has already been discussed here in this thread.

Yeah, that's an official track, ripped from the trailer. It's not bad, but I'm struggling to hear Castlevania in it...I wish it had another instrument that played some kind of main melody. Right now it kinda sound like a musical backdrop - atmospheric but not at all hummable. I want hummable.

Sounds a lot like that theme used in Dark Knight to me....its good but I do agree it really doesn't scream Castlevania to me.

That's FALSE!
Remember, that track was made by Geoffrey Gunn when the trailer was just relased, it's not ripped, NOT AT ALL! It's a fan interpretation (And some rip off to The Dark Knight like a Dog Chasing cars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hZIvVcDnec )
So, I repeat again, THAT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LORDS OF SHADOWS TRACK, IT IS FANMADE.

Thanks a lot.

BTW, Oscar Araujo DID make the soundtrack, recently I read a spanish page that previewed the recording session (about a month ago) and they said that it was masterfully and creepy :D

Edit: Google-Translate it if you want ;) http://noticias.bsospirit.com/2009/12/invitados-la-grabacion-de-la-banda.html

Ive read the translation and it does state that it is epic, dramatic and varied at times with great melody but nothing of it sounding creepy. And the closest I read of it being masterful is them stating that it was his best composition. Though so far Ive been listening to some of stuff from severance blade edge of darkness, el cid, nocturna and some stuff I found his myspace page. He seems to be a very talented musician.

Well, ok. It's not "ripped" from the trailer, but the song is still gonna be in the game, so it's official, even if this particular version is fan interpretation. That's all I meant, and I thought someone had ripped it from the trailer cause it sounds pretty much exactly the same. My bad, but my point still stands.

I wouldn't be surprised if the music actually changed depending on the location and the mood.
I mean, they wanted the trailer to feel epic, so they used epic music. Who's to say that when Gabriel goes into a dark, creepy castle it won't sound creepy? Who's to say when he goes into that forest it won't sound foresty?

Why does everyone like to yell?

No but seriously Beta you are right, there isn't enough data to actually come to a conclusion about the music. Hell there isn't enough data to come to a complete conclusion about the game. But regardless of lack of data I remain hopeful and excited about this game it's one of the soul reasons I got my ps3.

Also according to Mr Cox's twitter the camera is fixed and cannot be controlled.

Cox confirmed that PS3 is the lead platform for this game even though the two versions will be identicle.

Wonder if Mercury Steam will fill the blu-ray desk with media stuff.

Thanks Kojima .. one of the revolutionaries in the entertainment industry

Yes, I asked that and that sucks :( I would love to rotate the camera to see some details in the Castle for example, but that could mean that they are targeting to a more cinematic experience. I wonder, will that camera suck on the platafforming parts?  :'(

I would like to listen to the old tracks, Vampire Killer is almost a no brainer, but how could it turn out to be in Araujo's style? Even with my classical background, I can't imagine. I think that Bloody Tears could work though.

Don't be harsh. The problem is that I'm tired of telling the people "That is not an official track" because everybody says "It sounds a lot like The Dark Knight!" and I say "You know, it was almost ripped off from the Dark knight, and it's not official".

Beta is right, we have only heard 1 song. Not even one song, a fragment of one song, or many songs toghether, Id on't know, you don't know, we don't know :P

If done well, this would be a great boon. If done poorly, it could be a great hindrance. On the platforming subject, I think I'd prefer fixed. If done correctly, it would be better than a free controlled camera, which would need to be rotated before, during, and after every jump. I'm trying to use the scene in the trailer where he's scaling the castle wall as an example. As he jumps, the camera follows him exactly, giving (at least in the trailer) a good sense of where to go next.
