You know the whole "STOP! Night time!" thing? That didn't sit well for me.

Oh, did AVGN tell you to think that way?

Taken from his FAQ:
"That game’s not that bad, you’re whining about it, just because you suck at it!

Remember this is for comedy. Sure my gripes with the games stem from truth, but they are exaggerated. The whole point is to play bad. If you want to see somebody play good, go watch a speed run. If you take my reviews seriously, you are missing the whole point. Think for yourself. I may actually like some of the games I’m complaining about. I only focus on the negative. When I think back to the Castlevania 2 video, it was just a quick little video I made one night when I was bored, just for a little joke, and there’s real “Angry Nerd’s” getting mad about it. It’s funny how people usually see videos on YouTube and take them at face value. The same people probably believe that I go around in real life, wearing a white pressed shirt, stuffed with pens in the pocket, and saying “fuck” all the time and talking about buffallos taking diarrhea dumps."

that night time thing was annoying... but it wasn't horrid... might be worst if you replay the game though... but I didn't.

No, the day and night really did annoy me but that didn't ruin the game for me though. But the game was still ok though but the day and night cycle could have been done better.

And for the record, I dont really like AVGN that much, The Nolstalgia Critic and Spoony are better imo.

I respect your opinion. Just that a lot of people hate on CV2 just because of that damned video and it irritates me a lot.  :'(

I remember the first time I saw that video.
I remember specifically thinking about how the gripes I had with CV2 were mostly different from the stuff he mentioned.
On the other hand, I managed to remove the stupid pause by working some very glitchy and incomplete ASM kungfu, and it's waaay better.

Back on topic, I doubt that the goblins are a replacement for the fleamen. If they get replaced I agree it will most likely be by those evil bunnies from SCV4 & CV3j. At this point I'd like to note that CV3 didn't originally have fleamen.

Yeah, the enemies look pretty generic, but what if there is like, hundreds of different types of enemies, as I would assume there are. That would keep things spicy.

I really hope that's possible. I really do. One thing I hate about the Final Fantasy series through the PS2 and PS3(FFXIII is a culprit regarding this) was the monster roster that lacked the variety and numbers of the classic games. It seems the more better the graphics get, the more palette swaps you get over unique models. The PS2 CVs were just as bad. From what I see, the skins are different, but there are some palette swaps in LoS regarding the "giant" creatures. I really hope that's the full extent to palette swapping, and the variety in models and enemy types are greater. I don't want to see a silver palette swap of the giant Waurg called "Fenrir" or a variant of the Goblin enemies with horns, calling them "Trolls". I want new models and new enemies.

I gotta say I haven't been this excited over a new Castlevania since Circle of the Moon. The reason I was hyped for CotM was because it was the first metroidvania since SotN, and I remember thinking "what the f**k took them so long??". Also, I thought the GBA was the coolest thing, like, EVAH! And I did love CotM, even though I can't say it has aged as well as SotN. But at the time there weren't many other games like it. Those were the days...

With LoS I'm getting more and more confident it's gonna turn out great. Some people will hate it regardless, especially those in here who's already made their mind up. They're gonna keep saying that the game sucks (and then secretly enjoy it anyway, but that's another story..).

Having said all that, I feel Castlevania is more interesting now than it has been for the last 5 years or so. Can't believe why some feel the franchise is dying... I feel the exact opposite - it's coming back to life, hopefully  :D

Honestly, after Judgement, I'll settle for just about anything that at least successfully plays like a CV game in 3D.

Oh yeah, that reminds me how excited I was for CotM for the same reasons. It was the 1st since SotN. I remember seeing this screen as the 1st image of the game coming out, and I went nuts with excitement and expectations. And whern the game came out, I was pretty pleased, since I was so starved, like you said. I don't feel that same excitement for LoS though, not yet at least..

The first since WAT? There are two "full" N64 'vanias between SotN and CotM.

Yeah, and they were referring to MetroidVanias, not just any CV title.
