That was the most painful press conference I've ever watched. Jesus Christ Konami, what were you thinking? How much crap can you possibly have in store?

Anyway, I honestly thought Harmony of Despair looked reasonably fun. You can team up and kill stuff. Dunno. I am gonna download it once it comes out.

Silent Hill looked like it may very well be the best one since SH3, but I won't hold my breath. It should be better than Homecoming and The Room at least.

NeverDead looked fun too.

The Glee Karaoke presentation was so embarrasing I had to look away.

I wish there was a third alternate universe, where IGA and COX could do some amazing games together...

As much as I'm all in for LOS, I did feel sorry for IGA. He desserves better, as being a part of the legacy of our beloved series.

I would say I'm on the LOS team's side... but today, no more bashing for IGA.

Poor IGA. He had to open with that garbage, and then introducing the project that would completely blow him away.

I can't believe he actually said he thought it would be a good idea to do that game. Good lord. The man has lost it completely.

Come on now. Do you really think he meant that? He'd get fired if he said what he really meant.

It was nice (and kinda sad) to see IGA "pass the baton" to Dave Cox. Seeing Harmony of Dispair really is a testament to his fate at Konami, I wouldn't be surprised if this was his last Castlevania related game. :-\

I'm thinking the same. It's kinda sad, cause OoE was a huge step in the right direction, but then he comes up with this garbage. Maybe it was just meant to be his end.

shoot, i missed it.  shouldn't have gone into work today.

Fear not. You didn't miss anything good at all.

....That was just painful watch. Seriously. I barely got to the Castlevania stuff at all. (Actually, I started playing Tetris until it got to HoD.) I feel really sorry for IGA. He's a really nice and friendly guy when you meet him. I honestly wonder what he could have done with a budget like LoS is getting. It was nice that he introduced Cox but...I dunno. I just feel really bad for him. :(

I'm gonna give HoD a shot, I guess. Gives me and the hubby something to do...

After this...Is Konami mishandling the press on Lords of Shadow?

I mean, nearly all the trailers have been composed of cinematic scenes highlighting the Hollywood voice acting. And the gameplay shown has been visually-polished but boxed-off/on-rails hack-in-slash fair. Gamespot said with their hands-on that it will appeal to God of War/Dante's Inferno fans, but not as much to Castlevania fans. And besides Gamespot, I haven't seen a lot of hands-on impressions--especially ones that are glowing and touting the game as the show-stealer some have been predicting for weeks now.

Is this game getting lost in the mix? Is it not connecting with the broader audience it was supposed to? As noted in another thread, Harmony of Despair, a rather odd entry, is getting more online press and praise than Lords of Shadow. I would have thought E3 was the time for LoS to shine and show off the breadth of its promised gameplay of action-platforming/puzzles, rather than hack-n-slash...Thoughts?

PS: I guess the 'Castlevania Collection' rumored in January of this year is not a go...yet. I wonder if it'll see the light of day before next E3? Or maybe it'll never happen...If not, I wonder when the next Virtual Console announcement for Castlevania will pop up--we need Bloodlines and Dracula XX SNES!

It's really sad that, as far as CV is concerned, our hopes pre-E3, were far greater than what we actually got during E3. I'm still hoping the demo only covered the intro, and the rest of the game won't be that boxed in(or that the spacing between battle zones, platform zones and puzzle zones aren't as obvious). Though I WAS kinda hoping that IGA had something else up his sleeve, though Harmony of Dispair seems to be something a lot of the press likes(though, I don't have X360, so I can't get it either way). Other than the MGS news, Konami was kinda a let down, as was Capcom and Square Enix(tsk tsk). The only real things that I liked of E3 were the new Mortal Kombat(holy crap, it's like my kid-years again) and everything in the Nintendo press conference, which killed about every other press conference there, EVEN with the Zelda tech difficulties. It was like a battle where these samurai were all supposed to meet each other for one glorious battle royale, and Nintendo was the only one to show up with a sword, pumped and ready to go, while the others either forgot to train, didn't even bother to show up because they were too chicken(Square Enix, Namco Bandai, Capcom), or showed up drunk(Konami). It was a massacre with Nintendo shitting on everybody else's graves.

Don't know if this was posted earlier or not but here is some actual game play footage. I'm not going to watch it though as I prefer to be surprised when the game is released.

I wonder if this could be the cover artwork after all:

It lacks detail though, but maybe they could add Drac's face in the sky or something. :D

Now if you could photoshop Dracula's face it would be perfect. :)

And switch the company logo's around to make it look more legit.
