In someone is insterested in asking any questions about the game to the development director of Mercury Steam (Enric Álvarez) you may try by leaving your question(s) in the "coments" section of the following article of a spanish blog:

The tune that was played in the clocktower sounded familiar to me but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then it hit me, the song used the clocktower video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DPETnG7ScE

Is a remade version of this song from SCV4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUEC1Rcb1TA

I wish I could hear it more clearly though. But if it helps, Cox confirmed it was indeed that song.

If this game was full of Super Castlevania IV music, it would have one of the best Castlevania soundtracks ever despite it being wholly unoriginal.

Clock tower song sounds great and all, but I would've preferred something a little faster with a stronger melody, much like how Michiru Yamane have done it for every clock tower stage since, well.. ever. I realise they're going for more atmospheric music this time, which will make is less memorable/hummable, but probably great anyway.

Maybe they could've used that particular song for a waterfall scene instead (duh!), cause it honestly doesn't sound like clock tower music. Not only because it was in Super Castlevania 4, but because it genuinely sound like it belong in a different kind of level altogether. But maybe this is how castlevanian clock tower music will sound from now on. I might as well get used to it

I liked the song. I also miss the fast melodic songs, however, I think it doesn' fit at all this new direction, even if I would like it to.
However, I loved the ambient sound, perhaps I would make a music-less playthrough, I think the ambient sound is eally well made  :)

I miss some bombastic music :( but I think there will be, just listen to the Butcher music, it's magnificent  :D

Everything comes full circle

Oh wow, it is the Waterfall theme. I see what David meant now by classic songs being interwoven into the soundtrack. I'm kind of hoping the soundtrack becomes more Castlevania centric every now and then. If it's moody regal themed orchestra I don't think anyone is going to walk away from this one with any memorable tunes in their head.

Aw man, this probably means Simon's theme will also be mixed into the sound, I was hoping for a full reorchestration. :(

I would have liked the waterfall theme to be left for outside of the castle personally.

I would love the music from when you fight Slogra, Gaibon and Death (Room of Close Associates) to be in LOS, that would really make me happy

I couldn't pick out the Waterfall Theme from the sound quality of the clip I watched. ???

Anyway, saw the Clock Tower and Butcher Areas...This game is a strange one. I still don't know what to say about it. The platforming sections and action seem very disparate, and there is a lot of emphasis on making things cinematic more than "game-like." The platforming is a mix of everything under the sun, but especially brings to mind Shadow of the Colossus (see two-handed climb-jumping), and Prince of Persia. ...It makes me nervous that the developer was failing so much at the climbing and jumping--makes me wonder if the gameplay is balanced. And the checkpoint system as is is a bit too forgiving and distracting. Visuals are very impressive graphically, though sort of lacking in a subjective "charm." The action is still comical with Gabriel waving this combat cross around like a child's streamer...and all those whirlwind-magic combos are just ridiculously powerful and lacking in a sense of physical impact on the enemies. I will say that this presentation was more intriguing than the E3 stuff, though. It looks like what a true sequel to Lament of Innocence would be. In fact, that's probably the best description to what I'm seeing--which is not a bad thing, but not a mind-blowing thing, either.

This is my first post, so hello to everyone! :)

I have heard enough material to be disappointed. The generic film music won't deliver the essence of castlevania

experience. As I'm an old fart from msx era, for me The CV is about jazzy influenced tunes, world fusion music, little bit of Piazzolla

chord progression and 17th and 18th century symphony pastiches.

In the end, I rather play romantic and intelligent protagonist sneaking in the marble hall than furious conan clone hacking and slashing

in the setting of ridley scott/hans zimmer.

Also, as much as I'd like an intelligent and romantic protagonist, I don't think Castlevania's writing could ever convince me that I was playing one. Besides, Gabriel really isn't a Conan clone in any way besides proportions. He seems quite mild-mannered and thoughtful. From the trailers, he's more melancholic (though it's kinda generic to me), with his head bowed in thought in some cutscenes, rather than a gung ho brainless barbarian.

Though, I don't really fancy Gabriel either. He doesn't seem so much intelligent as he does "Gonna just sit here for awhile and THINK DEEP AND SADLY."

Sorry, I carried away little bit. To be honest I haven't seen as much as I've heard. It is just a general atmosphere of LOS I'm not so happy

about. It looks beautiful - almost perfect concept for 3D version of Maze Of Galious;D

I think we should be grateful. I read in an interview when the game was gonna be a CV1 remake, he was SUPER barbarian like. and actually, he WAS like that in original art. Still, people would have complained to high heaven.
