The problem with the music isn't that it's horrible, it's just not very memorable. Castlevania was always about memorable, hummable, SUPERcatchy music for me. Though we all know there will be remixed classics in this one, but so far we've only heard the waterfall tune from Super CV4. It's arguably the best piece of music I've heard from this game so far. I wonder if they deliberatly won't show us the stages where the rest of the remixed classic tunes are? To keep it a surprise.

Lovely video, that level looked pretty fun. It's nice to see more of the Combat Cross's scaling abilities too, honestly seems like you can climb anything with it. Combat looks very God of War and I'm not sure I was too happy about those punishing QTE's to defeat those monsters. Just seemed a little bit over the top for Castlevania. The music is fine, but like shelverton said the real problem is that hardly any of it is memorable. I was really hoping to hear some classic tunes or more Castlevania oriented music in this game but so far I have yet to hear anything like that at all. When it comes to Castlevania you need an equal balance of everything, and the music I felt was hardly representative of the area Gabriel was exploring.

All in all, game still looks solid. I'll be getting it on launch day either way.

I'm not a huge fan of the fetch-quest-like area in the video, but it was probably just for the sake of being a tutorial.

I'm very curious to see what kind of review scores LoS gets. Its looking good and its getting the hype I think it deserves, I'm just hoping there's not anything later in the game that totally bombs the reviews. And I'm still curious to see what Castlevania like things are in it too, it sounds more and more like there isn't much, if any classic cv music and we still have yet to see classic enemies, but in just 5 weeks we'll see...
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Well, I think its safe to say this game won't sale much copies in the east. Its all about the American and European buyers and the question remains if they are waiting for an "epic button masher" which plays things on safe.

Like I said before, I don't see this game geting anything lower than a 8 from big gaming websites like Gamespot or IGN who had nothing but good things to say about the game. (aside from minor camera issues)

As for sales the game has the upperhand considering this game has no competition unlike the dozen FPS's this holiday (unless you count Enslaved) and most of the "God Of War" type games have all sold a million copies in the long run so it all depends on how Konami market's the game.

I thought cox said there were 50 levels, what's with this "chapter" business, or is it a few levels to a chapter?

edit: I've been hearing about this chapter stuff lately but I also heard/read that the game has 50 levels so I am a bit confused if the chapters are one level a chapter or a few levels to a chapter.

I think each chapter has about 5 levels in it. I wonder if boss fights count as 1 level though

I hope there are a lot of bosses, not just one per chapter(or even worse, one per two chapters). I know we might not get to see one per level(which might be too much to ask for), but I'm kinda spoiled in having each unique level being dedicated to their own unique boss.

If you had bothered to read the interviews, you would have realized that there are multiple stages per chapter. The amount within also vary.

All the combat seems to take place in flat areas, I'm really hoping for some fights that take differing elevation in account.

I doubt will see combat outside of flat areas considering how the enemies move and how Gabe moves when he attacks.

Though we all know there will be remixed classics in this one, but so far we've only heard the waterfall tune from Super CV4. It's arguably the best piece of music I've heard from this game so far.

Where did you hear this waterfall tune? I want to hear it now!
