I'm hoping Mercury Stream has the skill and the guts to deliver us a truly mature game with a sympathetic, human hero who we can all fall in love with --and them watch him get abused, duped, betrayed, and completely destroyed in the ways we least expect.  Castlevania is ready for some hardcore tragedy --and these trailers fill me with hope.
Completely agree with you there mate, I'm also filled with hope that we'll be getting that.  I'm more than willing to overlook small things if the game delievers there.
The only thing that bothers me with the game is in the gameplay footage we've seen thus far, and shelverton/thernz alluded to it: it’s the length of time it takes to down monsters, and repetition of cut-scenes/killing manoeuvres while battling a boss.  Bayonetta did it to death, but there was enough eye-candy (lots going on on-screen basically) and it was really fast so that it didn’t feel too much of a grind.  That Malphas battle looked fantstic, but rather on the repetitive side.  The titan battles similarly aren't doing much for me, I don't fancy spending 20-25 minutes taking one down, but hey, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
To be honest I'm more looking forward to the story and non-fighting elements in the game, the shimmying and platforming, taking in the landscapes with the score behind it.
An Easy mode may make the run through a bit quicker, I just hope with harder modes it’s not just a case of 100 hits per enemy to fell ‘em.  Unlocking a Classic Castlevania mode, with the one/two hit kills would be cool.  Devil May Cry 4 introduced a whole slew of replay modes, each with great replay value, it would be good to see Lords’ do something similar there.
