But there's no evidence to base that faith on. S:
I have the mosi insignificant but perhaps not-that-insignificant: Thr choir chanting from the official page; it sounds a lot like the old Requiem from ROB and the tittle theme from SOTN but it's even creepier.
It's little but it's a hope  :D

It's too early for me to judge. The only thing I didn't care for was they seemed to focus solely on massive bosses. I hope that's not an indicator that this game will be filled with giant bosses. I do hope to see some human-sized bosses, cause even though the Golem, Medusa and Undead Parasite were pretty big in LoI, it was nice to fight Joachim and the Succubus! The balance between human-sized/slightly larger human-sized bosses and massive Galamoth/Talos-sized bosses was one of the cool things about the CV series. And yes, I DO hope we fight some human-sized vampires!! Please, oh please!!! ;D

There's one thing I'm really enjoying right now.

I think I've never seen such expectations around a CV game, from fans and non-fans of the series. It's nice to see people talking about Castlevania.

When Symphony came out, a new fanbase was created. If this game makes it the way we are being told it will, maybe we will have a "third generation" of fans.

If that happens, people will turn back to the old games, to see where it all started... So I think in the end, this will be a good thing for our beloved franchise.

And I have one theory... I think darkness will 'grow' as the plot develops. There is a dark cloud at the top of the castle...

And I kinda made this wallpaper... hope you like it. :)

What a nice wallpaper :o Could you make a widescreen version? Please  ;D And I second your opinion about the third fanbase.
BTW, did you alreadu checked the Akumajou Dracula web? It has new action figures of Judgment. There's only one guilty; Koji Igarashi, so, He's still involved in akumajou Dracula I guess.

I found these pics stored in my hard drive. They are related to kotaku 2008 article regarding to the first unveiling of the game last year. I'm not quite sure whether you have seen them or not. Any way, here they are.

Maybe this interview from last year provides some clues as to Kojima's involvment & IGA's apparent departure?

Quote
"Making a quality 2D game is really tough," he said. "The reason why it's tough is that even though I've been doing it for a long time, each time I do it I have to do it better. Fans expect something more. Just to keep them happy and to meet my own expectations, I have to try that much harder."

Quote
"I definitely have a passion for the franchise," he told me. "I mean, I'm definitely excited to do each iteration of the game -- and also my team. A lot of people came to Konami because they're huge fans of "Castlevania." That's another inspiration to keep on going, and it is a passion, definitely."

Quote
Would Igarashi consider a similar move for the "Castlevania" series? "['Metal Gear'] is something that Kojima-san has worked on for a long time," he said. "That's his decision and I completely respect him for doing that. Maybe the franchise as a whole will continue. And that's maybe something that Kojima is thinking about, right? Snake might be at an end, but it could continue in other ways. I don't know exactly what he's thinking, but let's see what he does."

Killing off the Belmont family doesn't appear to be in the cards for Igarashi. For the time being, 2D "Castlevania" appears to be safe in Igarashi's hands.

Somethin' to think about.

On the brightness of the LoS trailer, I think that might just be for the sake of showing off the graphics in the first trailer.  Its much easier to see the background details in daylight when doing a quick action shot, then in the night scenes at the beginning of the trailer.  They probably wanted to wow the audience with this first trailer, so they chose brighter scenes that would better show off the graphical quality of the game.  I don't think the trailer implies that the majority of the game will be bathed in bright sunlight, at all.

That's very insightful, and it's definitely true that trailers are more about the presentation than accuracy of the final product.

About the similarities alluded to in those pics... I just don't see it.

What are you guys talking about, I mean you can barely make out that picture at all.

In the first picture on the website, you can see the hooded scythe man from the front. He is very small and seems inhuman. Not sure though.

Good grief --the silence here is deafening.  Konami's PR people really need to start talking.  It's been over a month since E3 and nobody in the gaming press has delivered the inside scoop on this game.  What do we get?  Just a couple pathetic interviews with some whothefuxor peeons and bozos eschewing all this "forget the Castlevania you know" and "rebirth" nonsense.  Konami should be going out of its way to SHOW their fans that Castlevania is in good hands...
