10 bucks says this guy works for mercurysteam too...considering how many posts he has and what he says within those posts.

Unfortunately I don't, but if MercurySteam is looking for someone new to the team then I'm ready to rock. :)

I said it before in another thread; Nox is Cox  :D
When being confronted, Nox said "I'm not Cox" which is exactly what the real Cox would say. OMG  ;D

No, I am not Dave Cox.
I tried making an account about a year ago, but every time I sent myself the activation email, I'd just get either no email or a blank email. Something got fixed, and so I made my account. I've been lurking for awhile.

That being said, if he's going to use my Gabriel sprite, I should update it to look a bit more like Gabriel.

As You can see shelverton. - it wasn't me. ;) By the way, e105beta - beautiful sprites!

EDIT:
http://twitter.com/CastlevaniaLOS
New tweet from Mr. Cox - "More stuff coming soon... :)". I only hope "soon" is... sooner than later. :P

He is already saying that since December.

That just means we are closer to this "soon" than in December. :)

He is already saying that since December.

I have to agree with nagumo on this one, soon was 3 months back and all we got was an extended trailer a tid bits of info and s couple new screen shots and the same "Forget what you know about Castlevania" line. Seriously it's getting slightly annoying, Im excited about this game, its why I got a ps3 BUT its about time for some new shit.

Hrm, getting back to fixed camera issue, I can see not having to worry about the camera angle you're at and constantly micromanaging it would improve gameplay.  A lot of games have a "fixed" and "free" camera option though, not sure why they couldn't just give us the option (other than for technical reasons I don't understand).  It would be kind of neat even if the option was a secret (like how there's a secret stage select option in The Adventure ReBirth), as if to say, "we really don't recommend using this, but if you really want it, here you go."  That'd be nice, anyways.

The only time a fixed camera is a problem for me is in games like LoI and CoD, when I can't look at all the interesting art on the ceilings and walls.

I'm pretty sure CoD has a free roaming camera that you can turn and and move up and down. LoI was fixed, and I DO agree, there are some things in LoI that I would've liked to see, but you don't get to because of the camera. One has to be the room where you fight the Golem boss, which has those awesome looking giant hands coming out of the ceiling. You can get somewhat of a look by running around the room and jumping, but it's not enough.

Like someone already said before; A fixed camera enables prettier graphics (LoI) while a free camera makes it possible to look at everything at the expense of the visual quality (CoD). So, while the graphics look better in LoI you can't look at them closely, and vice versa in CoD (where you honestly don't even want to look at some the graphics). If LoI didn't have a fixed camera the game would probably look less great, and then you wouldn't wanna look around anyway... omg CATCH 22!

I think this is less true in the current generation of consoles, where graphics look good regardless.

well, looking at the trailers for LoS, the camera angle does shift angles as you move (the armor battle, for instance), i don't see why you coudn't just get it to shift when you want it to without sacrificing quality.  unless areas that change viewing angles are rare and require additional time and effort that they don't want to extend to the rest of the game.

course, i want the ability to zoom in too (like in Legacy of Darkness), but maybe that's just asking too much.

update:

i decided to play some Lament of Innocence again, just to get used to playing a Castlevania without camera controls again.  it's sad at times, but i'll live.  to make things more challenging the only save i am allowing myself to use is the one near the central hub, i'm not using the map, and i'm not allowed to purchase any potions from Rinaldo.  man its fun.

i wonder if they'll have a map in LoS?  its kind of nice to try to navigate by memory instead of going on autopilot following a map.  LoS should be quite linear, so there might not be any need for a map.  And if the repetition is a lot less than LoI or CoD, you really won't need a map.

Thanks to fixed camera game should be also easier to play for beginners.

Dave Cox told us about multiple paths some time ago - they will be present, but game's world won't be open.

Well I knew the multiple paths but.. I mean its gonna be more linear than Cod and Lament of innocence? I want to be able to go in different paths a lot not down hallway into that door into next hallway.. I want options!
