Haha, playing Castlevania during summer nights is more my cup of thee. It is just as scary as an autumn night but not gloomy. I don't associate something scary with gloomyness.

Such good music... oh em gee. I was terrified that it would sound generic and movie-y; glad to be proven dead wrong, at least so far.

Did you hear him mention the return of the between-stage map screen???  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

the song sounds really odd but awesome. Certainly not generic, but different than what i was expecting.

It seems like we've seen/read the same interview a hundred times now. I just wonder if they're purposely keeping a lid on this as much as they can so that they can really blow everyone away at E3 with the presentation/demo...
*I'm not a newbie...I had several hundred posts with this screenname on the old board*

Maybe, but what exactly do we wanna know at this point? I don't want the entire storyline spoiled for example. Konami would probably be smart not to even mention if Dracula is in the game or not. That is something for the player to find out. And players who say "I'M NOT BUYING THE GAME UNLESS DRACULA IS IN IT!!" actually don't deserve to play the game anyway. I think Konami should just show a few short gameplay videos, tell us one or two things about the story we didn't know, let us hear a few pieces of music, and then just let the videos and screenshots speak for themselves.

Castlemaniacs.com/foros's user Dralu, member of MercurySteam, just confirmed that armor will be upgradeable too, alongside with weapons. That's why gabriel's armor is shiner in some shots  ;D

EDIT: he said what the press release tells the game is placed "at the end of the times".
First of all, the Lords of Shadows are taking over the world with they dark troops, leading it to its doom, but by other side, people in the REAL mid-ages thought that the world would end at 1000 (Just like we did with 2000, and we are doing with 2012) but in those times people were too religous, and they thought everyday of the following days that hell's army would come out from the ground to kill all mortals.
So yeah, the placement of the year is intentional. i love the attention to details given to this game  ;D! (Oh yeah IGA, robots  in 1800? of course!)

Just add in some Dracula's Magic and you're all set!

So true, no one know's what materials he planned to sue, but a replica was built using that era's known technology... and lo and behold. It did work, as did his water shoes and parachute.

Now that I think of it, Dracula must have his own DaVince in is emply. Otherwise, how could he have had all that new zany evil stuff invented with each ressurection?

They should totally put some evil artist in a future game who uses with paintings and..... oh wait...

Anyway, it would be cool to have a crazy inventor/mad scientist who invents machines throught the game, and then finally turns into one himself. Or it could possibly be set in the future, after the Sorrow-games. The mad scientist build robotic versions of all the classic villians and enemies. Somehow he comes across the OMG SOUL OF DRACULA and his robotic Dracula comes to life. Haha.

Remind me to never write the storyline for a Mega Ma... erh... Castlevania game. Ever.

I think Geoffrey Gunn is actually posting here from time to time, he's not the composer for LoS, just a really talented fan!
