I am deeply saddened to see that Gabriel's interesting and cool design is a reused 'uniform' of sorts.

Zobek being bad or not, I do not care.

The fact that he seems to be a bigger part of the story is awesome... It's not like Oblivion where he plays that king for 5 seconds.

Hey at least Gabe get's upgrades to change the appearance of his armor.

And like Gunlord says, can someone translate those scans please?

Well, he IS a part of an Order. Isn't called the "Brotherhood of Light", or something? You can't be a member of a team without being a team player. It makes perfect sense that his uniform isn't that unique(though you can see slight differences between his and Zobek's). It's like if you were a soldier in the army, would you really be able to say, "I'm going to try something different! I'm going to ditch the fatigues, standard helmets, and wear a samurai helmet, football jersey and spiked bracelets!".

Those new screens are pretty as hell, and Zobek looks awesome. Anyone have translations yet?
Notice! The Bird skull on Gabes armor is missing from Zobeks. Also, when gabe holds up the pendant at the beginning of the new trailer to question the villager it looks just like the bird skull staircase from that one picture. Hmmmmmmmmmm
BIRD.
SKULL.
So if it's not on Zobek, but it's on Gabriel, what does it mean...?

...wait a second. I think I get what you're implying. >>Zobek is Dracula..?<<

EDIT: Here's some rough translations I gathered from a certain image board.

Quote
First page
The magic of the Vampire Killer appears
The secrets regarding CV:LOS are absolute. Luckily, we traveled to London to see the progress of the game and the results are absolutely spectacular.

Accustomed to a philosophy of Castlevania in 2-dimensions and aesthetics considered unattractive in the EU and US, this Castlevania carries an heirloom 25 years old and introduces a much more realistic vision, gritty and bringing it closer to games of this age in that the graphics carry a definite weight on the result of this game. This Castlevania offers a version much more Western with the intention of gamers rediscovering a classic license neglected recently. The game puts us in the perspective of a soldier, Gabriel, facing all sorts of paranormal creatures. This continues to be the soul of the game: vampires, monsters, castles, and all the beauty of gothic fantasy.
Quote
Side caption: In predetermined moments, Gabriel will be accompanied

Middle column:
The comparisons between LOS and God of War are constant, but comparisons mean nothing when you look at gameplay. While Sony's game is based on combos and more combos, Castlevania focuses on...

Grey box:
20 hours for 100%
One of Konami's objectives with this title is to reach the widest audience possible. For completionists, LOS will let you revisit past scenes (via an interactive map like those in older Castlevanias) and get 100% of the objectives and abilities. A list with all objects and abilities that you have missed mark their locations so that you may continue. On occasion, they are required objectives or abilities to obtain other objectives. A player can complete the game 100% in about 15 or 20 hours.

Still waiting on the 2nd page. From what I've been told it says it has a much heavier focus on platforming than combat. That is VERY good news if you ask me.

EDIT:
Quote
2nd page
Action, platforming, puzzles, and combat makes this more an Uncharted than a God of War

.. focuses on aspects between action, platforming, puzzles, and combat that, exaggerating, almost make it more of an Uncharted than God of War. The camera control is there, the scenery is spectacular, and 'titan'-style levels like God of War, but the focus of CV:LOS is much calmer and more derived from platformers. (can't figure out with this next sentence is trying to say, something about camera angles)

Magic: Light vs. Shadow
Combat will be present at all times in the game. Aside from Gabriel's main weapon, the Cross, up to 4 secondary weapons can be set to the d-pad. With the choice of a direct attack, a long distance attack, and a counter attack that functions when you block an enemy's attack, Gabriel won't have enough options to progress, so a customizable magic combo system has been created. There are two types of magics in LOS, Light and Shadow, each one with a different storage. To obtain magic orbs, Gabriel must hit enemies repeatedly, with which a bar, the 'focus bar', will fill and once it is maximized, every hit will produce neutral magic orbs. These orbs, by choice of the player, will be put into one storage or another. While Light magic will be used for health and cures, Shadow magic will serve to create stronger combos in attacks. Supposedly, a secondary weapon like Holy Water, combined with Light magic, will turn into a cure potion.
Everything indicates that CV:LOS will launch by the end of Summer or beginning of Fall, and then the fans of the series will find lots of nostalgic details and references that will 'take them back'. Those that are not familiar with the game are surely fascinated by the spectacular history of vampires.

The game will be released in the first days of October. You will also find a bunch of references ot other games or movies that inspired this game.

Side Bar:
A New Story
Gabriel Who?

A quarter century of fighting between the Belmont clan and Dracula in the different Castlevanias disappear in this entry. In CV:LOS, a new character is introduced, Gabriel, of which we only know that he is tremendously in grief over the death of his wife, who he seeks to revive by finding a mask that would give her back life. To not disappoint the fans, many past characters and objects will make more appearances. Prepare yourself for some cameos.

I dunno... I don't think Zobek will be a traitor; rather, I get the feeling he'll make some kind of heroic sacrifice by the end of the game.

All valid points but I'm just use to Belmonts rolling at their own pace.

Oh well its hardly a deal breaker. Also I must have missed the memo onthe armor visual changes. That sounds neat, if done well.

Well, that WAS the old Belmonts. At most, they WERE alone, venturing off to face Dracula alone, unless they met allies along the way(Alucard, Sypha, Grant, Maria...), but they were still operating on their own mission.

I really wonder which old characters will make cameos? I hope they won't rape their designs.

I'm putting my bets on some classic characters. Grant Dynasty anyone? One of the cemeteries is already named after Wygol Village from OoE, so we might see someone named Shanoa too.

I get the feeling no "Characters" will be returning. Possibly references (someone who is dressed like sypha, grant ect.), but for the most part i think its referring more to slogra, death, possibly a ferryman. Just don't expect any alucard.
Go. Set Forth! Both your own life and hers are at stake.

I expect some references like Galamoth or Legion, most of them bosses, persons... I don't know, I odon't think so, it's pretty much confirmed Alucard is not in any way in there, and besides Alucard.. which charachter could be alive at the time? I know it's non-canon, butr it still has to make some sense to put old characters in there.

My bet is that either Simon or Trevor (or both) showing up in a non canon way. *cough brotherhood of light members cough*
